Overview of Devolutions Server

Devolutions Server is a self-hosted password management and privileged access management (PAM) solution. It stores and shares credentials, remote connections, and other sensitive information across an organization. Access is granted with user group-based access control, and user activity is logged.

Devolutions Server is a web application installed on the organization's own infrastructure: on Windows Server with Internet Information Services (IIS), on Linux, or in a Docker container. It can be offered on an intranet only or published on the internet. It works with the following components:

  • The web interface, accessed from a browser.

  • Remote Desktop Manager and Devolutions Password Manager, where the Devolutions Server instance is added as a workspace.

  • Devolutions Gateway, which relays approved remote sessions to internal systems without exposing them directly to the internet.
