Encore charges a platform fee for orchestration and automation. Your cloud provider bills you directly for infrastructure, just as it does today.
For the platform: infrastructure automation, deployments, environments, observability, and developer tooling.

Infrastructure runs in your own AWS or GCP account. You pay your provider directly, with no markup from Encore.
Drag the sliders or type a number to match your team and infrastructure. The estimate covers Encore fees only, not your cloud bill.

"Encore is our foundation for all new development. Since adopting it, we've seen a 2-3x increase in development speed and 90% shorter project lead times."
"Encore lets us go from idea to shipped product at least 3x faster and saves us hours of devops work every week."
"We've reduced time spent on DevOps by 95%, and we're now on track to save $60K annually in cloud costs."
"Encore is an unfair advantage. At Pave we've moved 2x faster than we did at Monzo."
"We're saving $200k+ annually compared to additional hiring. The ROI is outstanding, easily 10x."
"You define infrastructure in your code and it's automatically spun up for you. You can go from zero to a deployed service on GCP in an hour. I don't know how else to do it."
"Encore's inferred infrastructure has allowed us to move at unprecedented speed. Combined with database branching in Neon, we're able to spin ephemeral environments up and down with incredible ease. Stakeholders love preview app URLs."
No. Encore provisions infrastructure into your own AWS or GCP account, so you pay your cloud provider directly for compute, storage, and data. Encore's Pro plan fee covers the platform: automation, environments, observability, and the developer tooling on top.
Yes. Your infrastructure runs in your own cloud account, so your cloud bill, and any credits on it, work as usual. Credits cover what you pay AWS or GCP, not the Encore plan fee.
The Pro plan is $49 per team member per month, plus $99 per AWS/GCP environment and $2.50 per resource in each environment. Environments and resources are metered hourly, so you only pay for the time they actually exist. An environment you spin up for a week costs about a quarter of the monthly price. Use the calculator above to estimate your monthly cost.
A resource is an infrastructure abstraction you define in code with Encore: services, databases, cron jobs, caches, storage buckets, Pub/Sub topics and subscriptions, and secrets. The underlying AWS/GCP primitives Encore provisions for them are not counted separately.
Yes. You can try the Pro plan free for 14 days, no credit card required. The Starter plan is also free forever for local development and small projects.
Start your free trialStarter is free forever, with no time limit. Compared with Pro:
Pro also adds deploying to your own AWS or GCP account with automatic infrastructure provisioning, preview environments for every pull request, custom domains, infrastructure change management with approval workflows, Kubernetes cluster import, a web application firewall, Datadog and Grafana integrations, cloud cost analytics, and email support.
Environments hosted on Encore Cloud follow Fair Use limits on every plan, per application:
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time with no lock-in. Because your application runs in your own cloud account, cancelling the Encore platform never takes your infrastructure offline.
Enterprise adds the security, compliance, and support larger organizations need: SSO/SAML, custom RBAC, SOC 2 compliance assistance, custom network security, a dedicated Technical Account Manager, and custom support SLAs. Pricing is tailored to your needs.
Talk to usYes, on the Enterprise plan. We can invoice you and accept payment by bank transfer.
Talk to usEncore is designed to avoid lock-in. You deploy to your own AWS or GCP account, so you own and control your infrastructure with no proprietary runtime dependencies on Encore.
If you stop using the Encore platform, you can keep your existing infrastructure and run your own CI/CD pipeline using Encore's open-source tools.
