WELCOME BACK
What will you make today?
Your recent and pinned tools, one click away.
Your drafts, pins and activityWhat you can do with it
Pick a tool and the file opens in it. It moves between pages inside this browser, never through a server.
Why it feels instant
The fastest upload is the one that never happens.
Most online tools send your file to their server, queue it, process it and send it back. floi skips the round trip. Your browser already ships the decoders, a canvas and Web Crypto, so the work runs where the file already is.
An illustration, not a benchmark. Real times depend on the file, your connection and their queue. Many services delete their copy after an hour or two, and you take their word for it.
Private by architecture
Not "we promise not to look". There is no server that could receive your file, and you can check it in your browser's Network tab.
Big files open at once
Nothing waits in an upload queue, so a multi-gigabyte video opens the moment you drop it. Most tools keep working when the wifi drops, too.
One pattern to learn
The same drop zone, shortcuts and layout on all 59 tools. Learn it once instead of on whichever ad-covered page ranked first that morning.
The toolkit
Every tool, shelved by the job you came to do.
Search it, filter it, or read down the page. Nothing here sits behind a menu, an account or a plan. Press / to search.
59 tools ready to use · 7 more in build
Media & images
Video, images and audio. Your browser already ships a decoder for all three. These tools just give it a handle.
Text & writing
Count it, convert it, compare it, clean it up. Nothing here needs to see a server.
Developer
The everyday encode / decode / validate jobs, with the reassurance that a pasted token or key never left the tab.
Documents & office
PDFs and spreadsheets, handled locally. The category where "upload your file to our server" is the least acceptable, and the least necessary.
Education & study
Calculators, converters and study aids that load instantly and work offline.
Design & colour
Colour maths, contrast checking and palettes, in the place you are already working.
No tool here matches that yet. Floi is 59 tools in, with 7 more already queued. to see all 66.
What the same jobs cost elsewhere
Three subscriptions for the small jobs. Or none.
These are the services people pay for the work floi does. The prices were read off each company's own pricing page on 5 September 2026, at monthly billing.
floi has no counter to run out because it has no bill to recover. The pages are static files on a CDN and the work happens on your processor. The hundredth conversion costs what the first one did, which is almost nothing.
If something paid ever appears, it will be a capability that does not exist today. It will not be a fence around a tool that is free right now.

Frequently asked questions
What is floi?
A single place for the small jobs that get spread across half a dozen paid services. Compressing a PDF, converting an image, signing a document, pulling a frame out of a video, counting the words in a draft. Each one is a tool that runs inside your browser tab instead of on somebody's server.
59 tools are live today and 7 more are named and in build. The whole directory is on this page.
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser does the decoding, the canvas work and the encoding locally, and even ZIP archives are assembled inside the page. Open your developer tools and watch the Network tab: no request uploads the file. Google Analytics may send usage events without file contents. You can turn Google Analytics off through Analytics settings in the footer. Signed in, text drafts and settings save automatically to your private account, Text opened from files stays in this browser’s local storage, including later edits.
One tool genuinely needs a little help from a server. File transfer sends a file from one of your devices to another, and two browsers cannot open a direct connection without swapping a few kilobytes of network addresses and encryption keys first. A ten minute room passes those two blobs between them and is then destroyed. It never receives a filename or a byte of a file, and the tool page explains the whole arrangement.
Is it actually free, or free until I hit a limit?
Actually free. No account required, no email required, no trial, no watermark, no daily cap and no paid tier waiting behind a "download" button. floi is static files on a CDN. Serving it costs almost nothing, so there is nothing that needs to be gated to pay for it.
If a paid option ever arrives, it will add something that does not exist today rather than take something away. Every tool that is free now stays free.
Why would I create an account?
To make floi yours. Signed in, your profile shows your recent tools, the drafts you left in them and the tools you pinned. Typed or pasted drafts and settings save automatically to your private account, so they follow you to another device. Your activity page shows your busiest days, the tools you rely on and your typing best.
Your files still stay in your browser. Activity stores tool paths, dates and numbers, never your files or tool contents. Nothing about you is public. Signed out, your drafts and settings stay on this device and every tool works exactly the same.
Can this really replace the tools I pay for?
For the small jobs, yes, and those are most of what a PDF or image subscription is used for. Compress, convert, merge into a PDF, sign, resize, remove a background, read text off a picture, trim audio. That is the work people buy iLovePDF and Smallpdf to do.
It does not replace Photoshop, Premiere or a full document management system, and it will not pretend to. The rule for what gets built here is whether a browser can do the job honestly and well. Where it cannot, the tool page says so instead of failing quietly.
What kinds of tools are here?
Media & images, Text & writing, Developer, Documents & office, Education & study, Design & colour. The list is meant to keep growing. The rule for what gets built is simply whether a browser can do the job honestly and well; if it can, it belongs here rather than behind an upload form.
Why does it matter that the tools run in the browser?
Three practical reasons, beyond the privacy one. It is faster, because a multi-gigabyte file never waits in an upload queue. It works on files that are too big or too sensitive to send anywhere. And it keeps working when the connection does not. After your first online visit, most tools can reopen offline. AI tools need their model files first. YouTube tools, sign-in and device pairing need a connection.
There is a commercial reason too, and it is the one that decides the price. A tool that runs on your processor costs floi nothing to run, so there is no per-file cost to pass on to you.
Do I need to install anything?
No. There is no extension, no desktop app, and no sign-up required. Every tool is a web page: open it, use it, close it. It works on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iOS. If the browser can open the file, the tool can work on it.
Does everything work on a phone?
Almost everything. The one current exception is live screen capture, which depends on a desktop-only browser API. Anything that is desktop-only says so on its own page rather than failing quietly when you get there.
What are the "in build" tools, and when do they land?
They are the tools already designed and queued, listed by name so you can see where floi is going rather than being told "more coming soon". They are not links, because there is nothing behind them yet. A card becomes a link on the day the tool actually works. No dates are promised, because a promised date on a free project is just a broken one waiting to happen.
