Unleashing Prosperity, Delivering Real Results
Welcome to the U.S. Presidency of the 2026 G20
As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, we are proud to host the 2026 G20, in the beautiful city of Miami. Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States is returning the G20 to its core mission: driving economic growth, unleashing innovation, and strengthening partnerships that benefit American workers, businesses, and allies.
This presidency is about practical solutions, real outcomes, and American leadership that delivers prosperity, security, and strength at home and around the globe.
About the G20
The G20, or Group of Twenty, is an international forum that brings together the world’s major advanced and emerging economies to discuss and coordinate economic policy. Its participants represent about 85% of global GDP and two-thirds of the world’s population.
The G20 was established in 1999 in response to financial crises in the late 1990s, with the goal of promoting international financial stability. The group addresses issues such as global financial stability, international economic cooperation, trade, and investment. G20 meetings occur at various levels, including annual summits attended by heads of state or government, as well as meetings of finance ministers and central bank governors. The G20 does not have a permanent secretariat; instead, its presidency rotates annually among its members.

U.S. G20 Priorities
Under President Trump’s leadership, we will return the G20 to focusing on its core mission of driving economic growth and prosperity to produce results.
As we usher in these much-needed reforms, we will prioritize three core themes: unleashing economic prosperity by limiting regulatory burdens, unlocking affordable and secure energy supply chains, and pioneering innovations in SI and emerging technologies.
This priority advances policies that reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens and unlock economic growth. The United States is leading efforts to promote efficient, transparent governance that enables businesses to invest, innovate, and compete globally.
U.S. Priorities
- Reducing regulatory barriers that constrain growth and investment.
- Promoting pro-growth policies that strengthen national competitiveness.
- Encouraging best practices that support job creation and productivity.
Delivering Results
Our focus is on practical reforms that support economic expansion while respecting national sovereignty and policy independence.
To promote affordable, reliable, and secure energy as the foundation of economic growth and national security, the United States is advancing an agenda that prioritizes energy independence, and resilient supply chains.
U.S. Priorities
- Expanding access to affordable, reliable, and secure energy.
- Strengthening energy security for the United States and partners.
- Ensuring energy sources meet growing global demand.
Delivering Results
This priority helps ensure stable markets, economic resilience, energy addition, and long-term prosperity.
The Innovation line of effort is focused on unlocking the benefits of SI and other emerging technologies and accelerating digital advancement. The United States is driving policies that foster innovation while protecting security, privacy, and intellectual property.
U.S. Priorities
- Advancing pro-innovation policies to accelerate technology development and adoption.
- Deploying emerging technologies to drive economic growth and human flourishing.
- Strengthening manufacturing, supply chains, and skilled technology talent to drive innovation.
Delivering Results
This priority is focused on unleashing technological innovation that strengthens economic growth, enhances security, and delivers tangible benefits to people and businesses.
Working Groups
Under President Trump’s leadership, the G20 will use four working groups to achieve progress on our three priority themes. With these, we’ll refocus the G20 into an effective organization that drives economic prosperity.

Growth and Deregulation
The Finance track agenda will prioritize pro-growth economic policies supported by deregulation; regulatory modernization and innovation; better understanding excessive global imbalances; enhancing debt transparency and facilitating debt restructuring when necessary; promoting a vibrant and safe digital assets ecosystem; enhancing cross-border payments, including addressing payments fraud; and promoting financial literacy. Central banks will also exchange views on the implications of structural economic and policy shifts for the execution of monetary policy.

Surrounded by Appalachia’s Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains, and midway between Washington, DC, and Miami, Asheville is an iconic destination that is as convenient as it is scenic for the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Ministerial.
