Hoplite documentation
Build, run, and ship with Hoplite coding agents, managed cloud workspaces, and the public API.
Hoplite is a coding-agent platform for turning repository tasks into pull requests. Run agents in managed cloud workspaces, work with local providers in the desktop app, or build your own cloud software factory through the public API. Hoplite brings agent execution, persistent workspaces, previews, approvals, and PR operations together so you can focus on the work you want to ship.
Execution
A cloud thread owns its workspace across runs. Separate threads have separate workspaces; follow-up messages resume the existing one. Local threads in the desktop app run against a folder or Git worktree on your machine.
- Cloud setup — connect a repository and start a thread.
- Threads and runs — execution boundaries, concurrency, and continuation.
- Thread workspace lifecycle — persistence, archive, recovery, and runtime replacement.
- Desktop execution — local providers, credentials, and cloud differences.
Configuration and control
- Repository setup — install dependencies and configure managed previews.
- Instructions and skills — scope and discovery.
- Permissions — which operations can proceed and which pause for approval.
- Security boundaries — what enters the workspace and who can access it.
- Costs and limits — billing attribution, credit holds, and spending caps.
Build on Hoplite
Build a software factory walks through a backend integration that starts a budgeted task and produces a draft PR. Use events to build a live UI, webhooks to trigger workflows, and operation receipts to recover from uncertain writes.
