What is a genogram?

A genogram is a visual family map. Alongside family members and generations, it can show relationships, dates, and other context you choose to record.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can open the editor, draw a genogram, and export a watermarked PNG without an account. Sign-in is needed for cloud saving or Professional access.

Where is my genogram saved?

The full editor saves your work in this browser by default. Signing in and choosing Save to cloud uploads the selected project to your account. Cloud saving is not end-to-end encrypted.

How do I keep an editable backup?

In the full editor, choose Save local copy to download a project file. Use Open local project to edit that file again. Keep a backup before clearing your browser data, which can remove locally saved work.

What can I export for free?

You can export a PNG with a watermark for free. A one-time purchase covers one watermark-free PNG export. Professional also includes watermark-free PNG exports; see Pricing for the current plan details.

Does MyGenogramMaker claim HIPAA compliance?

We do not make a HIPAA compliance claim. Use a device and browser you trust, and follow your organization’s privacy requirements when recording sensitive family information.
