We’re heading to El 2 Carnales, and I am SO excited for you guys to try their specialty pizzas! They have some amazing Mexican-style pizzas loaded with toppings, but since some of those toppings can be a little adventurous (hello, cilantro 😂), I’m putting together a selection that everyone can enjoy—including specialty pizzas + pepperoni.
And yes… there will absolutely be guac. Because obviously we couldn’t call it Glue Sticks & Guac without the guac! 😂🥑
Drinks are not included with the ticket. I wanted to leave drinks open so you can order whatever you actually want instead of being limited to a fountain soda. And if you haven’t tried their horchata yet… my daughter swears it’s the best around, so consider that your personal recommendation. 😉

Matcha Society: Halloween Edition🎃🍵
Next Sat at 1pm · San Francisco
Spooky season calls for a slightly different Matcha Society meetup 🎃🍵
This time we’re heading to Karma Cafe, a cozy café known for going all-in on seasonal decorations, including Halloween 👻. They’ve also offered pumpkin spice and other seasonal drinks in past fall seasons, so whether you’re a matcha person, coffee person, or just want something sweet, there should be plenty to choose from.
We’ll grab our drinks, hang out at the café for a bit, and then walk over to the Panhandle 🌳. Once we’re there, we’ll go with the group’s vibe and either pull out conversation cards to get to know each other better or play some board games together. You’re also welcome to bring a book, draw, journal, take photos, or just relax with everyone.
And because it’s Halloween, come dressed up! 🎃 It can be a full costume, something silly, spooky makeup, cat ears, or even just a small Halloween accessory. No need to go all out unless you want to. Come alone or bring a friend. The whole point is to spend a cozy October Saturday meeting people over something good to drink. 👻✨

San Francisco Cat Walk - Mission
Today at 3:15pm · Mission SF
Join for a slow, free afternoon stroll through the Mission, stopping at the homes of window cats who have agreed to star in the walk.
────୨ৎ────
Additional Information shared the morning of the cat walk. Location details + maps with cat descriptions will be shared at the park!
────୨ৎ────
⋆🐾⋆ Why it's capped at 100 ⋆🐾⋆
I wish I could include everyone, but this is our very first cat walk, and I want to be respectful of the neighborhood and of the hosts who are opening their windows to us. A crowd of hundreds on Mission sidewalks means blocked roads and unhappy neighbors, so we're keeping this first walk small. The route will only be shared here with RSVP'd guests, and it will list blocks only, never addresses.
⋆🐾⋆ This is just the beginning ⋆🐾⋆
Planning this has been so fun, and more walks are coming to other SF neighborhoods! I've even had requests from the East Bay 👀 Every kitty deserves their moment in the window, so if you didn't get a spot this time, or your cat wasn't on this route, you're not left out. You're early for the next one.
⋆🐾⋆ A few ground rules so our hosts keep inviting us back ⋆🐾⋆
⋆ Stay on the sidewalk, and don't go onto anyone's property, knock, or tap on windows
⋆ Give each window a little room so everyone gets a look
⋆ Cats are cats, so some will be in the window, and some will be asleep. Both are valid.
If your plans change, please un-RSVP so someone on the waitlist can take your spot.
Thank you all for the love and support this has gotten. We can't wait to walk with you.

Niu Lai screening at TIAT
Today at 3:30pm · San Francisco
Lets watch Niu Lai together <3
Niu Lai (Chinese: 牛来; pinyin: Niú Lái; literally "Here Comes the Cow" or "The Bull is Coming") is a viral 2026 Chinese animated indie film that became a massive "so bad, it's good" box office sleeper hit.
If we still have popcorn, we'll provide it ~ (we're doing a Sinofuturism screening earlier in the day too)
⭑.ᐟ More on Niu Lai
Niu Lai is an 86-minute abstract adventure following a timid newborn calf who grows into a braver ox through a dream-like journey alongside his mother and other forest animals.
It was made over a five-year period by a mother-and-son duo, director Xin Yumeng and writer/composer Sun Lifang, who handled the script, animation, voice acting, and soundtrack almost entirely by themselves.
Created on a tiny budget (reported around $200 to a few thousand yuan) using basic architectural modeling and design software like SketchUp on secondhand hardware.
After opening to almost no audience and earning just a few thousand yuan in its first week, clips of its stiff, glitchy, and surreal computer-generated imagery spread across Chinese social media.
Online ridicule turned into genuine curiosity and cult-classic status, driving audiences to theaters en masse and pushing its gross past $9 million (making it one of the most profitable films relative to its budget). Audiences often contrasted its earnest, human-made charm with slick, AI-generated content.
⭑.ᐟ Chinamaxxing
A group exhibition on view 9/25 - 10/17 at TIAT in SF ⭑.ᐟ
Drink hot water. Learn the characters. Buy the robot dog. Imagine the future happening somewhere else.
Earlier this year, “Chinamaxxing” emerged online as a playful embrace of contemporary China—its technology, infrastructure, food, fashion, and everyday life. But what, exactly, are you embracing—a culture, an aesthetic, a political possibility, a different version of yourself?
Across sculpture, moving image, poetry, performance, and interactive systems, Chinamaxxing follows objects, technologies, and rituals as they travel across borders. The artists explore what gets translated, imitated, misunderstood, or made intimate along the way.
The exhibition asks what we want from China, and what we might discover beyond wanting.
⭑.ᐟ More on TIAT
tiat is the intersection of art & technology! we are an experimental gallery for creative technologists to experiment, exhibit, and expand their practice. ⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ tiat is 501c3 nonprofit, our EIN is: 39-3448606.

It’s 2050, and San Francisco is thriving. Our energy is abundant, reliable, and clean. Our green spaces are protected. We’ve built affordable housing and increased our transit density to accommodate our growing city. Writers, activists, and working class San Franciscans are filling thousands of new homes with music and joy. Bicycles, pedestrians, and electric buses and trains fill our streets. Every San Franciscan is fed, housed, and safe.
Life in the SF of the future can be carbon-free, fun, and beautiful, if we imagine it together.
Join Soapbox San Francisco for a night of dinner, collaging, discussion, and community. We’ll build the vision for our city that we share, and create a shared art piece that reflects it. Supplies will also be provided to create your own collage to take home.
What's included:
Plant-based dinner from a local restaurant
Conversation prompts and facilitation to nurture our collaborative visions of San Francisco
New friends, good vibes, and all the materials you need for the most fun Friday night out in SF
You'll also have the opportunity to support The Faight, our venue, by buying drinks at their bar.

6:30-7:00PM: guided visioning prompts to think through what you love about SF and what the future can hold in its best-case scenario + collage instruction
7:00-8:30PM: collage party!!
8:30-9:00PM: wrap up, microactions, & what's next? how do we turn our visions into reality?
About Soapbox Project and the vision for Soapbox SF:
Soapbox Project is a nonprofit that creates the world's most joyful community spaces for climate action. Our mission is to transform climate anxiety, loneliness, and powerlessness into grassroots change.
We joke about how flagship space in Seattle is like "climate church." Every Tuesday evening since 2025, we've been host to a plant-based dinner and a joyful activity (concerts, Q&As, action parties, art nights) to make sure people know there is a space to go to make friends who care about the same things you do.
We've piloted in LA, DC, Portland, and NYC, and are coming to SF next to see if there can be a permanent home for us in San Francisco.

A little dirt. A little live music. A very good reason to spend Saturday outside!
We’re bringing the Loess crew to Alemany Farm’s 21st Annual Harvest Festival for an afternoon of farm wandering, good food, and making a few new friends along the way.
On the agenda: live music, farm tours, pumpkin decorating, garlic planting, and a pig roast with fresh farm salad. There’s also screen printing, so bring an old tee and give it a second life. Your adventure wardrobe may already be in your closet.
