Give Claude
better refs.
Claude is only as good as the references you give it. Refs is 4,100 films that moved people, measured cut by cut into blueprints and prompts your agent can build from.

What’s inside
Every film, taken apart.
Not a mood board. Measured cuts, timed beats and a recipe for each film, so Claude copies the method, never the footage.

A recipe Claude can run
Paste it into Claude Code, make it yours.
Use Remotion to create an original 15-second, 60 fps motion-design showreel for {{PRODUCT}}. Timed beats: 0–1.9 s, a point grows into the mark inside faint circular guides; 1.9–3.4, a full-screen shape wipe reveals a huge {{PRODUCT}} title; 3.4–5.6, a warm-ivory process chart…
Refs × Claude
Same Claude.
Better references.
One command adds Refs to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. Ask for a film and Claude studies the films that already worked, then plans and builds yours.
Brandprint Pro
Your brand,
as rules Claude follows.
Give Refs your brand’s X handle. It finds its launch films, takes each one apart and writes one brand kit: palette, type, logo and end card, motion, pacing, sound and voice. Claude then plans every new film inside it, and borrows only structure from the references.

Questions.
What do I actually get?+
Every film in the archive with its measured cut map, plus a 15-plate blueprint (hook, beats, shots, type, colour, sound, script) and a prompt recipe you can hand to Claude. Formulas compare films of the same format.
How does it work inside Claude?+
Add the Refs MCP to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor with one command. Claude can then search the archive, pull blueprints and formulas, and plan your film from real references.
Do you host the videos?+
No. Every film plays from its original post and stays its maker’s. We publish our own measurements and analysis, and credit and link every source.
What is Brandprint?+
A Pro feature. Give Refs a brand’s X handle and it finds that brand’s launch films, blueprints each one and writes one brand kit: its house style as rules. Claude then plans new films inside that style with plan_video. Imports are private to you, and Pro includes 3 brands a month.
Is it free?+
Browsing, measurements and the first plates of every blueprint are free. Pro opens every plate, every recipe, formulas and the MCP.
How long is the average launch video?+
The median runs 53 seconds, with a cut every 3.5 seconds (16 a minute). “Introducing” is the most common first word on screen, 120 BPM is the most common tempo, and more than half end on their own name. That’s from 1,952 launch films measured in Refs, October 2026.
Which agents does the MCP work with?+
Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, with a ready config for each on the MCP page. It’s a standard streamable HTTP server at refs.video/mcp that takes your key as a Bearer token, so any MCP client that can send a header connects the same way. The MCP comes with Pro.
$ claude mcp add --transport http refs https://refs.video/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $REFS_KEY"
