We know that people use apps and AI tools differently. Some rely on one tool every day, while others want to explore and try out many. That's why we've built a space where every way of working belongs.

We started as one subscription and grew into the whole place people come to find or sell Mac apps. Built by MacPaw, Setapp brings together their products — CleanMyMac, Moonlock, Eney, ClearVPN — and hundreds of Mac apps that are handpicked, vetted, and held to a standard most apps don't meet. Get to know what shapes Setapp.
Here at MacPaw, we develop apps that add value to people's lives — so your Mac does more for you, without demanding more from you. In 2017, we had a bold idea to change how people get apps: dozens of handpicked macOS applications for one fee.
Now, a decade later, Setapp has become the place people come to find or sell Mac apps. Or just take a look.

You have tasks. We have apps. Deal?
Setapp is known for its curation, but the truth is it never starts with apps. It starts with something worth fixing. Our team spends hours, days, sometimes years hunting for the right app. Good UX, real problems, responsible developers. We found the good ones early, and we're good at keeping them.
We know how hard it is to find your first users, get your first useful feedback, and, if you're lucky, see your first revenue. The rise of AI apps only adds to what was already hard. Tokens. Models. Cloud or local.
Setapp is built for developers of all kinds. Whether you're an indie maker, a small team of up to ten, a company or an AI developer figuring things out as you go, if you're building for Mac, iOS, or the web, you'll find what you need here.

The Revolution. Oleksandr Kosovan, CEO of MacPaw, proposed a different model: what if Mac users could access the best apps for one monthly fee? We launched an invite-only beta, attracting 30,000 signups in under two months.
Open for everyone. In January we officially launched Setapp with 61 handpicked Mac apps under one subscription for $9.99. Six months in, we hit $1 million in ARR. By December, 300,000 people had joined and the catalog had grown to 100 apps.
AI enters the collection. Setapp added AI+ plans (AI Enthusiast and AI Expert). Now, people can use AI-powered apps the Setapp way: one balance of credits you can spread across 30+ AI tools.
The family grows. Moonlock, MacPaw's cybersecurity app, and Eney, MacPaw's proactive AI assistant, joined Setapp. CleanMyMac was already on it. For the first time, all the pieces of what MacPaw has been building were in one place.
Not just a subscription service. Setapp launched Setapp Marketplace alongside Setapp Membership — two ways to access curated apps: the full 270+ library on one subscription, or individual apps with flexible payment (monthly, yearly, or one-time).
Independent journalists reviewed Setapp and published their findings.
At MacPaw, we've been making software since 2008. Our story started with CleanMyMac, then grew into a whole set of apps and AI technologies for macOS. Setapp became a marketplace and AI environment: for developers, to ease their work with AI; for users, to optimize their expenses and help choose the best AI tools. Your needs may change, but Setapp is the place you can count on.
