Realtime without the infrastructure

Pusher compatible WebSockets, hosted for you

Socket Chief speaks the Pusher protocol, so the client and server libraries you already know work out of the box. Point them at our host and add live updates, notifications, chat, and presence to your apps without running a WebSocket server yourself.

Pusher protocol compatible
Use pusher-js, Laravel Echo, Laravel broadcasting, or any of the official and community Pusher libraries. No proprietary SDK to install and no lock-in, switching to or from Socket Chief is a matter of changing a few settings.

No servers to manage
We run, scale, and monitor the WebSocket servers so you can focus on building your app. No processes to supervise, no ports to open, and no long-lived connections tying up your application servers.

Public, private, and presence channels
Broadcast to everyone on public channels, authorize subscribers on private channels, and see who is online with presence channels. Cache channels remember the last event for new subscribers and encrypted channels encrypt event payloads end-to-end. Choose which channel types each application allows.

Client events
Let clients publish events directly to other subscribers on private and presence channels, perfect for typing indicators and cursors. Enable it per application when you need it.

HTTP API
Trigger events and batches of events from your backend, query occupied channels and presence members, and terminate connections for a specific user. All using the familiar Pusher HTTP API and its signed requests.

Webhooks
Get notified when channels are occupied or vacated, when members join or leave presence channels, and when clients publish events. Webhooks are signed with your application secret so you can verify they came from us.

Usage insights
See delivered messages, client events, API triggers, and peak connections for your team and per application. Inspect the channels that are currently live to see what is happening right now.

Multiple applications
Create a separate application for every project or environment, each with its own credentials, channel settings, and webhooks. Collaborate with your team members on all of them.
