Our hosting provider has finished investigating and confirmed the cause. A short-lived problem in their network edge sent some requests to servers that weren’t ready to answer them, so those requests timed out. Service recovered at about 20:57 UTC. Our own servers and your emails weren’t affected, and there’s nothing you need to do.

Between about 20:45 and 21:00 UTC, some requests for email images, the dashboard and the API timed out before reaching our servers, because of a connection problem at our hosting provider's network edge. Only a small fraction of customers were affected, and our servers stayed healthy throughout.
Emails opened after 21:00 UTC show their images as normal; nothing needs to be resent.
