Finder shows you a list of filenames. Homy shows you your stuff. Big, clear thumbnails for everything, and a search that understands plain English.
macOS 14+ · Apple silicon & Intel · Homy is a Mac app
Images, videos, music, documents, archives and apps. Each one gets its own shelf, so you can see what you have at a glance.
No folders to dig through and no syntax to learn. Homy shows you exactly how it understood you.
Example search: pdfs from last week over 5 mb

Colourful and friendly, or quiet black, white and grey. Switch any time from the top bar, or with ⌃⌘T.
Quick Search
Press ⇧⌘Space in any app and a small search panel drops in, Spotlight-style. It understands the same plain English as Homy, and the text inside your screenshots too.
⇧⌘SpaceFrom any app
Menu bar
Homy’s menu bar icon lists the last ten files that landed in Downloads, with thumbnails. Drag one straight into Mail, Slack or Figma, or click to open it.
Press Space for the real macOS Quick Look. Arrow keys move through your files, and up and down jump a whole row.
Save “pdfs from last week” or “screenshots over 5 MB” to the sidebar. They always show what matches right now.
Optional rules that move old installers to the Trash and file screenshots into a folder per month. Off until you turn them on.
New actions for the Shortcuts app: Find Files, Get Latest Download and Search in Homy. Or just ask Siri.
Select a few files and drag them all into another app together. (macOS 26 and later.)
Tile Homy to a third or a quarter of the screen and the cards shrink to fit. ⌘+ and ⌘− change the card size.
Five things Finder can’t do, each one a shortcut away.
1Natural-language search
Homy turns “pdfs from last week” into filters you can see: little chips for type, date, size and source. No folders to remember, no syntax to learn.
⌘FSearch
2Text in images
Homy reads the text in your screenshots and recent photos right on your Mac, using Apple’s Vision framework. That Wi-Fi password, the tracking number, the quote you saw once: just search for it.
⇧⌘CCopy Text

4Duplicates
Homy finds identical files by their content (SHA-256 fingerprints) and look-alike photos too: bursts, edits and HEIC/JPEG pairs, using Vision feature prints.
⇧⌘DDuplicates
5Clean Up
Smart cards on the Home screen point out old installers, forgotten downloads, old screenshots, big old videos and apps you don’t use anymore.
⇧⌘KClean Up
Duplicates + Clean Up
Homy finds the stuff you forgot about and shows you what it’s worth. You review it, you decide. Everything goes to the Trash, so you can always put it back.

Totals for every category, plus shelves of your recent photos, videos, music and documents.
Recents, Images, Videos, Music, Documents, Archives, Apps, Smart Folders for Large Files and Screenshots, plus pinned folders.
Switch views, make cards bigger or smaller, and sort by name, date, size or kind.
Press Space for Quick Look, or double-click for a bigger preview. Use the arrow keys to step through files.
Double-click a song and it plays right in the toolbar. ⌘← and ⌘→ to skip.
A live preview plus the details: dimensions, duration, camera and download source.
Quick Look, Open, Show in Finder, Pin to Sidebar, Copy, Copy Path, Move to Trash.
Drag files out of Homy and into Mail, Slack, Figma or wherever they need to go. Several at once, too.
New versions download in the background and install when you quit. Nothing to babysit.
For keyboard people
Homy looks at your files so you don’t have to. It never sends them anywhere.
All text recognition and duplicate detection runs on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no uploads.
Clean Up and Duplicates move files to the Trash. Changed your mind? Put them back.
Files that only live in the cloud are skipped during scans, so nothing gets downloaded.
Built in SwiftUI. Small and fast, about a 5 MB download.
Signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS knows it’s safe to open.
Follows your Mac’s appearance, and looks good either way.
Runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

No. Homy works alongside Finder. It’s a nicer way to see and search your files, and “Show in Finder” is always one click away.
No. Text recognition, search and duplicate detection all run on your Mac. Your files never leave it. The only network calls Homy makes are the license check and the update check.
Only when you choose to, and only by moving them to the Trash. Nothing is ever permanently deleted, so you can always put a file back. The optional automatic clean up rules are off until you turn them on in Settings, and they also only use the Trash.
macOS asks you to approve access to those folders. Homy needs it so it can show and search the files inside them. Nothing is uploaded.
Yes. Homy has two looks: Playful, which is colourful, and Minimal, which keeps everything black, white and grey. Switch any time with the toggle in the top bar, with ⌃⌘T, or in Settings. Both work in light and dark mode.
Yes. Press ⇧⌘Space in any app to open Quick Search, a small Spotlight-style panel. You can change the shortcut in Settings. Homy also adds Find Files and Get Latest Download actions to the Shortcuts app.
macOS 14 Sonoma and later, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
No. You pay once and keep it: $9₹899 for the first 300 customers, then $29₹2,499.
Yes. Pick 1 Mac, 3 Macs, 5 Macs on the pricing card. You get one license key that activates on that many Macs.
Yes. Open Homy › License…, choose “Deactivate this Mac”, then activate it on the new Mac with your license key.
Yes. The license only needs to check in occasionally, and Homy keeps working offline for up to 30 days in between.
Homy checks for updates once a day, downloads them in the background and installs them when you quit. Updates are free.
