New blog post: What's the Point of Computer Use Agents? There's been a lot of hype about CUAs recently. But where do CUAs shine? When should we use CUAs over API- or text-based agents? And what are the remaining research problems? jykoh.com/blog/whats-the…

Be careful when walking around the COLM venue at night. I was out alone and got approached by a group of people to discuss continual learning

I'll be at #COLM2026 🦙 from Tues-Fri, after almost 2 years of not going to conferences! I would love to catch up with new and old friends, at the conference or elsewhere in SF! These days I'm mostly interested in CUAs for very complex tasks (including applications in science),

Jev is as fast as GPT-6 Astra on cua-speedrun, and 35x cheaper! 🤯 …and it also gets 1/10th of the accuracy! Models like jev are really cool for certain things! But not agentic tasks, at least not right now. Pranjal explains in detail:

Thought Jev is fast? We evaluated Jev on cuaspeedrun.com for computer use agents and found: 1. 1.5x slower than Opus-5.5-xHigh 2. 10x lower accuracy 3. 5x more steps That puts it in the GPT-4 league of performance and Astra-xHigh on time What and Why?? 🤯 🧵
