AI turned building into a weekend job. It didn't make distribution one bit easier. So shipping isn't the impressive part anymore. Everyone ships. The impressive part is ten strangers who came back a second time without being asked.

Reddit's early front page was mostly two people. Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian posted links under made-up usernames so visitors never landed on an empty site. You don't need fake accounts. But nobody wants to be first in an empty room. Fill it with your own work first.

Day 5. 34 posts, about 105 impressions, still 1 follower. Two outside visitors yesterday. One from a directory, one from a reply I left under someone's post. Neither signed up. Tried posting an update on Indie Hackers. New accounts have to comment first. Fair rule.

Dropbox's first big wave didn't come from a launch site. Drew Houston made a demo video for Digg, packed with in-jokes only that crowd would get. The waitlist went from 5,000 to 75,000 overnight. The lesson isn't "make a video." Show it working, in the room's own language.
