Bio
Jack Edelist, known by “Fortune,” grew up in Hong Kong and Toronto, starting his career in Boston and recently moving to Munich. The name “Fortune” is a testament to his upbringing in Chinese culture. Before turning 18, he carried his love for rock and jazz guitar into being a DJ. After performing at private events, he took his career to the club scene in Fall 2023. Ever since, Fortune has played for crowds of thousands — most notably, a closing set for James Hype at a festival in Punta Cana in Spring 2024. He held down the club scene in Boston as a resident at Big Night — New England's largest hospitality and entertainment company — supporting artists like RL Grime, Will Sparks, Matroda, Jonas Blue, Valentino Khan, Ahmed Spins, Hayden James, Myles O'Neill, Niiko x Swae, Proppa, Jake Shore, and many others.
Beyond playing over 200 of his own shows, he prioritizes being a positive figure in the community. He founded a collective, “Sonder Ground,” that curates events around unique venues and visual art, giving a stage to artists of all sizes, and a safe space for all wanderers of life to appreciate music. He also founded the largest open deck series in Boston, bringing hundreds of weekly listeners and providing countless DJs their first stage opportunities.
Fortune brings a blend that draws from tech house, minimal, disco, indie and bass, and his familiar energy keeps the floor driving.
