We deployed our latest system update to our EU-based system on 23 June 2026 and to our US-based system on 28 July 2026.
People creating an account or upgrading from a free account can now choose an annual plan. PostgreSQL 15 is available, and the Databases page now makes it easier to restart PostgreSQL servers and keep track of MySQL storage limits.
Annual plans¶
If you’re creating an account or upgrading from a free account, you can now choose an annual PythonAnywhere plan directly from our pricing page.
Annual plans give you 12 months for the price of 10. You can choose the resources you need using the same controls as our custom monthly plans, then review the price and VAT details before paying. If you need more resources during the year, contact us and we can upgrade your plan on a pro-rata basis.
Annual plans require manual renewal, so we won’t automatically charge you again at the end of the year. We’ll send you a reminder before the plan expires, and you can decide whether you’d like to continue.

PostgreSQL 15 and server restarts¶
PostgreSQL 15 is now available on PythonAnywhere, and new PostgreSQL databases will use it by default.
If you’re using an older version of PostgreSQL, contact us and we can upgrade it for you.
The Databases page now shows whether your PostgreSQL server is running. If it has stopped, you’ll see a button to restart it without contacting support. If the server stopped because its disk is nearly full, the page will tell you to increase its quota before restarting it.
Clearer MySQL storage warnings¶
The Databases page now shows a warning when your MySQL databases exceed your account’s storage quota. We’ll also warn you by email before disabling writes. Your existing data will remain readable, and you’ll still be able to delete data to bring your usage down.
Write access will be restored automatically within 24 hours after your usage falls below the limit. Upgrading to an account with enough storage restores it immediately.
