How It Works

Two Tiers. Six Conditions. One Workflow.

Instead of picking one tool and hoping you chose right, cast a wide net — then test only what needs testing.

Connected Mind® with Fast Check® combines multi-condition screening and targeted testing in one workflow. Eight initial screening questions provide a broad view across six mental health conditions. When the screen flags a concern, Connected Mind automatically launches the corresponding condition-specific follow-up testing for clinician review.

The Net vs. the Pole

Why single-condition screeners miss what matters.

Traditional Approach

Pick one screening tool — PHQ-9 for depression, GAD-7 for anxiety — and hope you chose the right condition. Each instrument screens for one condition at a time.

The Connected Mind Approach

Screen for all six conditions with 8 questions. Then test only the conditions triggered using targeted Standardized Assessment Modules (SAMs).

Frequently Asked Questions

How do Connected Mind screening and testing work together?

Patients begin with eight questions that screen for six mental health conditions at once. When the results trigger further testing, Connected Mind automatically administers the corresponding Standardized Assessment Modules. Patients complete only the modules indicated by their screening results, and clinicians receive structured results for review.

How quickly can our clinic get started?

Signup is fast, the EHR connection takes about two minutes, and self-led training takes 10 to 30 minutes per staff member. A clinic can realistically be ready to use Connected Mind within a few hours.

Will Connected Mind work with our EHR?

Connected Mind connects with certified EHRs through Direct secure messaging, a protocol built into certified EHR systems. The connection takes about two minutes to set up, and results begin flowing almost immediately.

Are tablets included, and what tablets can run Connected Mind?

Tablets are not included. Connected Mind runs on Apple tablets capable of running the latest version of Safari and Android tablets capable of running the latest version of Google Chrome. Most clinics choose an Android tablet with an 11-inch or larger screen and a drop-resistant case. These setups typically cost less than $200 and are readily available from retailers such as Amazon.

What devices can patients use to open remote links?

Remote links work on most laptops, tablets, and phones. For the best experience, the device should be capable of running an up-to-date version of Safari or Google Chrome. Older browser versions may still work, but they can be less reliable.

What information do clinicians receive?

Clinicians can review structured screening and testing results, longitudinal tracking across the five most recent encounters, and the questions in the order they were asked. Reports are available through the EHR connection or the Connected Mind portal.

What training, support, and staff resources are included?

Connected Mind includes self-led, role-specific training and certification for providers, IT and admin, front-desk staff, billing staff, and medical assistants. Training takes 10 to 30 minutes per role, clinic administrators can track progress, and support is included. Resources include ready-to-adapt sample office protocols, sample standing orders, and sample payer appeal letters.

What billing guidance and operational reports are included?

Every Connected Mind report includes a billing guide with example CPT and ICD-10 codes, modifiers, fee information, documentation examples, and additional coding guidance. Billing activity reports help billing teams track which tests were and were not completed. Clinical evidence reports assist with HEDIS and MIPS reporting, and audit reports assist with HIPAA and HITECH compliance reviews.
