CppCon keynote: Bjarne Stroustrup - C++ in constrained environments

Many systems have constraints that dominate the design – limited memory, limited CPU speed, extreme reliability requirements, limited latency, zero or limited downtime, long life (decades).
When teaching C++, these constraints are usually ignored.

Bjarne Stroustrup on “dead bodies of type theorists”

I can’t produce a link off the top of my head, but I remember Bjarne Stroustrup saying (on a few occasions, in a talk or a panel) that “non-type template parameters were introduced in C++ over the dead bodies of some type theorists” (quote from memory). This surprises me since types depending on values is a fundamental concept in Martin-Löf type theory which is older than C++. Does anyone have any knowledge on what feedback Bjarne Stroustrup received from type theorists?

Transwarp is a header-only C++ library for task concurrency. It enables you to free your functors from explicit threads and transparently manage dependencies. Under the hood, a directed acyclic graph is built that allows for efficient traversal and type-safe dependencies. Use transwarp if you want to model your dependent operations in a graph of tasks and intend to invoke the graph more than once (MIT).
