Our team works diligently to review and remove any content or accounts that violate our policies. Our implementation of the federal Take It Down Act (TIDA) and Florida HB 1161 represents a continuation of our commitment to making Pinterest inspiring and welcoming for everyone.
What is non-consensual intimate imagery?
Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII) refers to any situation where intimate content is produced, published or reproduced without the consent of the individual depicted or whose likeness is depicted, including AI-generated or manipulated content. Another commonly used term for this is Image-Based Sexual Abuse (IBSA).
Report NCII content
If you are depicted in any images or videos that violate our NCII policies, or are authorized to act on behalf of that person, please complete our NCII form. Consistent with TIDA, upon receipt of a valid report, we will review and remove violating content.
Reporting requirements
When you submit a report for NCII content, be sure to include the following:
Clear identification of the image or video you're reporting, including a URL and description.Any information to help Pinterest determine that the content was published without consent.An electronic signature. By providing your name in the NCII form, Pinterest will treat your submission as containing your electronic signature.Your contact information.Confirmation of your good-faith belief that the image or video identified is non-consensual.
Review process
We review submitted reports and remove or disable access to reported content as soon as possible. We also make reasonable, industry-standard efforts to identify and remove duplicate content on Pinterest.
Your information will remain confidential and will only be used to investigate your report.
Preventing abuse on Pinterest
Even if it’s not your images being shared, you can help keep Pinterest safe for everyone. Here’s how:
Don’t save or share. Sharing the image or video can make it more difficult to remove and track down the original source.Block anyone who makes you feel unsafe. Blocking someone on Pinterest prevents them from following, messaging or interacting with you. You can also report an account for harassment.Contact your local law enforcement agency. In addition to reporting this type of behavior to Pinterest, you can make a report to law enforcement authorities in your area. They may also be able to provide local resources and support.Get assistance removing images on other platforms. For help removing images outside of Pinterest, visit StopNCII, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), and Alecto AI. Please keep in mind that Pinterest is not affiliated with these resources or tools, but we’re sharing them in case they can help.
