About the Founder
As Director of PLΛCE ΛSSEMBLY, Jocelyn believes that great cities, campuses and precincts are informed by excellent upstream design - visionary policies, strategies, standards and reviews that set the bar for contributory development and thriving communities.
Jocelyn is a Fellow and former National Councillor with the Australian Institute of Architects, and a Fellow and former Board Director of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. She was also City Architect and Director of Design for the City of Melbourne (5 years), and Campus Architect for Monash University (9.5 years).
An passionate advocate for participatory and curated approaches to place transformation, Jocelyn has maintained a deliberate focus on the public realm of precincts, campuses and cities. She has presented this work internationally, including at the UIA World Congress and International University Architects Conference.
Jocelyn currently serves on the Victorian and New South Wales State Design Review. She is a sessional academic and researcher at RMIT University in design-led approaches to housing and belonging. She contributes to numerous advisory boards, committees and panels. Her work in consulting, public and institution-side practice has been awarded at state, national and international levels.
