Garbutt Wood in North Yorkshire is a quietly beautiful nature reserve, and on a misty morning it takes on an almost fairytale quality. This image was made where the path bends into the deeper forest, the silver birch trunks to the right catching what little light is filtering through the mist, while the path itself curves away into a soft, luminous haze of green and grey.
There’s very little in the frame that demands attention – and that’s the point.
