Sync para Mac

Latest version is 2.2.61. It "only" took 3 years to kinda fix the "copy to Vault" behaviour! Now it seems to work, although there are many errors ("time mismatch", 'BADNAME(8)", etc.) in the report document, but at least the sync doesn't bump any more on invisible system files... I'm still concerned by the fact that you can't trust anything in that report file to check that the operation went OK or not, but maybe in 3 more years everything will finally be fixed... 😅

Latest version is 2.2.55. I've got a mail yesterday saying that the good old v2.1.4 will be abandoned on April 8, 2026 and indeed it already stopped working... v2.2.55 has the same issues as any other one since v2.1.4 (see my former comments) so I have to change my workflow and turn the partition I usually "copy to Vault" into a folder on another partition... Note that by installing the latest version, the extension in the pref pane Extensions has been disabled, so Finder's additions (the CM "copy to Vault" and file overlays) had disappeared.

The current version being 2.2.29, I gave it a new try. All is working ok with the exception of "copy to Vault" when applied to a full volume (no issue on individual folders): it still bumps on a non-existent file (.com.apple.timemachine.supported — that once existed but has been deleted locally and on the vault a long time ago...) The other issue I had with v2.2.x was with the invisible folder .fseventsd: for whatever reason, it had faulty permissions and triggered errors. I had the idea of trashing it and MacOS created a brand new one. Fixed. The support team is quite reactive, but they still advise me to stick to v2.1.4 to avoid such issues... 😲

v2.2.6 is out, but beware if you have lots of aliases in the folders you backup (especially to the Vault): the aliases are now resolved, so if they point to GBs of data, you may have a BIG surprise... ;-) v2.1.4 is the last that consider aliases like unknown files. It doesn't seem to bother MacOS and Sync will ignore the file (an error is displayed for normal sync).
