SECOND IS NOW ON MAINNET.
Bark, our implementation of the Ark protocol, is available for anyone to start making bitcoin payments.
Included in the launch are our mainnet Ark server, the Bark SDK, and multiple wallets to try from day one.
1/ It's hardening season. Bark 0.7.0 is all about improving security and reliability. There's nothing more important to be working on right now. Thanks again to @ProjectLoupe and @theinstagibbs for the disclosures behind several fixes.
A user of ours just sent us his experience receiving 100K sats via Lightning to his new Bark vault 🐶
The amount had to be “refreshed” first so it becomes a self-custodial VTXO capsule for 99.50k sats, valid for up to 27 days paying 500 sats only. He will accumulate a few more
Bitcoin peer to peer payments are still difficult and full of friction. At Zaprite, we're working to make it seamless. No QR codes, no lightning addresses, no strings of data, no out of band communication. What is the challenge and how are we creating a solution?
1/ Bark 0.6.2 is out. One call can now pay whatever a user wants to pay: an Ark or on-chain address, any Lightning destination, or a multi-rail BIP 321 URI. When a destination can be paid more than one way, Bark lists each option with a fee estimate.
