The Triangle Java Users group was established to provide Java and OpenSource related information to its members, to facilitate contacts between its members, and to promote the use of technology in the Triangle area of North Carolina. TriJUG is a non-profit, vendor-independent organization.
We meet once per month and discuss Java or JVM-related subjects.

TriJUG is the Java user group for the Triangle, NC area. We meet roughly monthly, usually on the third Monday evening, in person. This is a continuous call for speakers; there's no deadline. Submit whenever you have something to say, and we'll reach out to work out a date.
Anything on the JVM is in scope: Java and the JDK itself, Kotlin, the frameworks and build tools people actually use, testing, performance and profiling, concurrency, data access, deployment, architecture. Talks that aren't JVM-specific are welcome if they matter to people who write JVM code for a living: developer tooling, AI-assisted development, security practices, career and craft topics. We're a user group, not a conference track: a talk about a hard problem you solved at work is as welcome as a talk about a new language feature.
Formats The default slot is a 45–60 minute talk with time for questions afterward. We also take: Short talks, 15–20 minutes. Good for a single focused idea, and a good first talk. Panels and discussions, if you bring the participants.
If you want to do something else, propose it and say how long you need.
Audience and level
Expect a room of working developers with a wide range of experience. People a year into their first Java job sitting next to people who have been shipping JVM code since the 1990s. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced talks all work here. What matters is that you tell us which one you're giving, and pitch it consistently. An advanced talk that assumes real depth is fine; so is an introduction that assumes none. A talk that tries to be both usually reaches neither.
Speakers First-time speakers are genuinely welcome, and this is a good room for a first talk. Say so in your submission if it's your first and we'll help you prepare. We're an unpaid volunteer group with no travel or speaker budget, so we mostly work with speakers who are local or already passing through.
