Inspiration
GLORB or (Good Luck On Reaching the Boss) is a Survival & Resource Management style game mixed with a playful island you want to return to: expressive characters, collectible hats, and short games connected by a place you can explore. It brings the welcoming island-club feeling into a single-player adventure.
What it does
Arrive as GLORB and explore a garden hub with wandering residents, a hat shop, and a samurai dojo. Walk through named shrines to enter four activities. In Island Restoration, gather PAINT, craft upgrades, restore three shrines, and bring colour back while surviving the spreading blight. Temple Dash challenges you to collect 50 coins, UFO Rush sends you through three space sectors, and Bubble Rush tests your rhythm across three difficulties. Complete the four milestones to unlock the Dread Warden finale. Earn Stars, collect hats, and save your progress locally.
How it was built
The game uses Three.js, & HTML. GLB assets supply the character and UFO; procedural geometry builds the garden, shrines, game stages, and scenery. Keyboard and touch controls share the same gameplay systems. Local storage keeps campaign progress and cosmetics. The downloadable ZIP includes the readable application, assets, and libraries for offline play through a local server.
Challenges and lessons
The main challenges were sharing one renderer across different activities, restoring the hub camera and controls after each game, keeping touch controls readable, and packaging every runtime dependency locally. Testing the extracted ZIP helped catch problems that source checks alone could not reveal.
What comes next
More island activities, additional cosmetics, and further mobile performance and accessibility polish.
