Proof your fonts on every commit. This repo renders a font proof PDF with Hellbox on a GitHub Actions runner, fails the build if character coverage or layout regresses, and attaches the proof as a build artifact.
proofs/family.fontproofis a proof document authored in Hellbox (here via the CLI:hellbox --proof fonts/... --save-doc). It proofs Space Grotesk (SIL OFL), all four named instances, structured after Ohno Type Co's "Proof it!" essay: big character boards, a complete glyph grid with metric lines, HH/OO and nn/oo spacing strings, kerning text, original reading copy at 8/11/14/21pt, and a tracking test from 0 to +20.proofs/fonts/holds the font binaries. Hellbox resolves fonts relative to the document, so the committed proof renders on any machine..github/workflows/proof.ymlinstalls the Hellbox app plus thehellboxpip package (pip install hellboxgives you the CLI anywhere the app is installed), runshellbox render-check(machine-readable coverage + overflow audit), gates the build on it, then exports the PDF artifact.
Grab the rendered proof from any run's artifacts, or just open proofs/family.pdf: the workflow commits the freshly rendered PDF back to the repo on every main push, so the proof you see is always current.
- Fork this repo (or copy the workflow).
- Author a
.fontproofin Hellbox for your typeface and commit it with your font binaries beside it (or have your CI font build place them there). - Push. Coverage regressions and layout overflows now fail the build.

Tip: the workflow pushes a "Render proof" commit after each run, so
git pull --rebasebefore pushing from your machine.
