Star Trek is the 115th Magic: The Gathering expansion, and is scheduled for release on November 13, 2026. As part of the Universes Beyond series, it is based on the television franchise of the same name that celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. It will feature characters and stories from the entire franchise.Star Trek reuses Spacecraft and the associated Station mechanic from the similarly space-themed Edge of Eternities. A new mechanical spin on the Spacecraft in this set is that some have abilities that trigger whenever they're stationed, even if they've already passed all their station thresholds. A new mechanic used in the set is Federation, an ability word signifying abilities that care about the number of non-Borg creature types among creatures you control. As for the Borg, their ability to assimilate organisms into their hive mind is represented by the new Assimilate keyword action. Facing a dilemma is a new term codifying certain game actions, similar to committing a crime. You face a dilemma as you choose one or more modes for a spell or ability. The Star Trek series is defined by its moral choices and decisions, rather than warfare. To reflect this, there are many modal cards in the set.
The set introduces the Officer creature type to represent all Starfleet personnel. As Star Trek series is characterized by the diversity of characters and species, there are no cards typed as Alien in the set. All the different species have their own creature type instead. In the news
