A small milestone that I'm genuinely happy about. My 2 pull requests have been merged into OpenStatus, an open-source uptime monitoring platform built with Next.js, TypeScript, and a modern monorepo stack. Here's what I worked on: 1. Private Location Metadata UI Built a reusable metadata component and added it across multiple dashboard screens. Also improved search so private locations can be filtered using their metadata (provider, cluster, region, etc.). 2. Maintenance Sheet Timestamp Fix Fixed a UX bug where the dashboard showed the maintenance start time as "Last Updated". It now correctly displays the actual `updatedAt` timestamp (with a fallback when needed). What I enjoyed the most wasn't just getting the PRs merged — it was learning how a real production open-source project works: understanding an unfamiliar codebase, writing focused PRs, handling CI, and iterating on maintainer feedback until everything was ready.
