The Linux Cast

I do videos and podcasts about Linux and open source software. I also rant a lot. And ramble. I tend to ramble. If you ask AI, this is what you get:The Linux Cast is a YouTube channel dedicated to Linux content that combines long‐term distro reviews, Linux news, and engaging commentary with a down-to-earth, conversational style. Launched in 2020 by creator Matthew Weber—with co-host Martin joining the effort—the channel evolved from an earlier podcast concept that began around 2017. Initially revived during the pandemic when old podcast episodes revealed a surprisingly loyal audience, The Linux Cast transitioned to video to further share real-world experiences with various Linux distributions. The channel sets itself apart by emphasizing long-term usage and performance reviews over quick tutorials. Instead of focusing solely on how to install or configure a distro, the hosts document extended, hands-on experiences that explore the evolution, stability, and usability of different systems. This approach provides viewers with genuine insights into the practical benefits and occasional challenges of adopting Linux as a daily driver. In addition to distro reviews, the channel covers current trends in the Linux ecosystem, discusses package management nuances (like the differences between the AUR and traditional repositories), and shares customization tips for window managers such as i3. Its casual yet informative presentation appeals to both beginners looking for guidance and advanced users seeking deeper understanding. With over 63,000 subscribers and millions of views, The Linux Cast has established itself as a respected, influential voice in the Linux community, continually refining its production quality while staying true to its authentic, relatable approach.----Personally, I think that's all nonsense. I do videos. Some are good. If you support me, I really appreciate it.
