just wanted to remind you: ☀️ you’re valuable even if you’re going through change ☀️ perfection is overrated ☀️ indulge in optimism, it will make life sweeter ☀️ we control nothing except how to respond ☀️ you deserve, overwhelmingly, to be loved and supported

productization of apps + “don’t make me think” ux culture obliterated customization, reducing opportunity for playful or incidental coding now usually a premium/dev feature but playgrounds like @CodePen @glitch @Codecademy emerged to fill the void creativity always finds a way

wow, really makes me think about the rigidity of social media today. interesting that a lot your responses are listing coding programs, whereas these platforms were places where code/design was encouraged as a means to self expression, rather than an explicit tool to code/design

many internet gworls of my generation got into coding through livejournal, neopets, myspace, tumblr, and other community spaces that valued creativity + self-expression what apps today offer a direct entry point / inspire curiosity around using technology to be creative?

after 10 years of building @Codecademy, our next chapter will be with @Skillsoft! i'm so grateful to our team, our learners, and our investors for helping us to build something that's helped tens of millions of learners (and it's only the beginning!). wsj.com/articles/skill…
