I don’t think “everything’s a file” matters. What really benefits LLMs is well-designed textual user interface. Because LLMs are for working with text. Yet another proof GUI was a mistake.

Interesting. Although the super-power of Linux is that "everything is just a file" so everything can be manipulated with text. Which AI happens to be _really_ good at.

Had 20ish minutes, decided to quickly build my project on a new windows install. Big mistake. That system is so stupid, how do I even setup path? Next time will start with installing Claude.

Java is nice. I really like self-contained files (hence reliable IDE refactoring) and the standard library. But some things I could never get over: 1. No value semantics. A custom date picker once mutated the date you passed in when the user picked a date and hit Cancel. 🧵

One of those images you can here. Seeing “r tape loading error” is a relief - usually it was preceded by the stripes that have inconsistent height, showing that loading might fail - but there’s still a chance.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Cassette decks overheating with R Tape Loading Errors on computer desks. I watched loading stripes glitter in the dark on portable TVs. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to rewind. #ZXSpectrum #retro
