The 2009 Wrangle Regatta, circuit stop #5, was conquered by Tony Collins the defending champion! The entire fleet sailed within challenging conditions, with the majority of the fleet using the Jens Rig.
At the 3 class regatta including Sunfish, Laser, and B
utterfly, The Sunfish class had the most boats competing in the heavy air conditions. Tony Collins, Ed Hill, David McCary, and Bill Jackson were the most consistent and the low point scores in the end. Contragulations t
o all 16 competitors who hung in there to the end!
Many thanks to the Butterfly Fleet 20, White Rock Boat Club, and Corinthian Sailing Club for hospitality and making sure the Sunfish fleet was comfortable at White Rock Lake. Thank you to Pam Newton, Shaun Hoffmann, and Doug Peckover (all Circuit Members) for their work behind the scenes to organize and manage the regatta. This was the first year the circuit officially stopped at White Rock. Also, White Rock Lake has a history of competitive sailing, but the Sunfish class history on the lake is short in length. Perhaps after this regatta we may see more development!
Thank you to the White Rock Flying Scot fleet led by Tom Miller for managing the Race Committee and assuring smooth racing and safety in the heavy air.

Circuit Stop #5: 2009 Wrangle Regatta
If you plan to race at Circuit Stop #5: 2009 Wrangle Regatta at White Rock Lake, please take the time to sign up at http://wrangle.eventbrite.com, so that they can give final numbers to their caterer by the middle of next week.
The PRO is going to be Tom Miller, of the Flying Scot Fleet at CSC, on Saturday and Ted Perna, also from the Flying Scot fleet at CSC, on Sunday. They have tentative plans to have John Noeding as a photographer if his schedule remains open. He took some pictures of the Laser fleet one Wednesday night last year and they were some very good shots.
Remember that if you would like to camp, then please make arrangements by contacting Shaun Hoffmann at 214-563-1651.
