Snorkeling with friends

Aaron and I had the best day on April 30th. We went snorkeling with some friends. We went on a boat to a few islands and stopped to snorkel in a few places. We had an amazing time. We saw stingrays, a turtle, great sea plant life, lots of fun Caribbean fish, and reef sharks. Aaron was lucky enough to have a 7 ft shark swim right past him. I was close but I only could see the fins above the water, when I went under I couldn't see them. The lunch we ate on one of the island was a typical Dominican meat, rice, and beans, with pineapple. We wish we could have all of you come do these fun things with us. Here are some pictures of the day.

Basketball Season 2010

Marcus' basketball team took 2nd place their invitational. Then his team went to Ecuador for their tournament. It is called CAISSA. They were awarded the bronze at this tournament.

This is the time of year that a lot of latin countries have "Carnival"
People dress up and parade around to scare you. It is believed that this will scare the evil spirits out. When you attend the carnival parade, several people have long whip type things that they swing and whip who ever they can. It is suppose to beat the evil spirits out that didn't get scared out. Needless to say, we haven't attended a carnival parade.

Where we spent Christmas break

November fun

We had such a fun Thanksgiving at the resort. We went with our friends the Whitings. Yes Kim and I had massages on the beach, I'll take that over cooking a turkey any year. Before we left for the resort, we had some visitors. Two were missionaries here and they came back to visit with their sisters. We had fun spending time with them. Marcus was able to go to a volleyball tournament in Venezuela. His team took 2nd place.
