Ribbon cutting ceremony on March 14, 2026 in Pompano Beach
On 3–4 March 1776, the Continental Marines and Sailors conducted the first amphibious assault on foreign soil in the Bahamas, seizing military supplies and making history as America's first overseas landing during the early days of the Revolutionary War.
Thanks to 245 generous donors, we raised $297,325 to make this memorial a reality. Construction has begun, and we look forward to dedicating this important memorial on March 14, 2026.
Pompano Beach is the closest logical location on the US mainland to the historic landing site. Its location and patriotic community make it an ideal place to honor the legacy of the Continental Marines and Sailors.
