So, we kicked off June with Savannah's baptism, which proved to be the beginning of a pretty good summer. We didn't really do all that much, but between the lazy days, there were a few days of fun sprinkled in.
One Saturday morning, we woke up to find this scene on our doorstep. Grandpa Richard and Grandma Meg had come up and surprised us with Christmas in June, since we were unable to see them over the previous Christmas. FUN!

Savannah took dance and one of the venues she got to dance at was Lagoon. We made a day of it and took the whole family. We were only able to actually stay half the day because it started raining super hard. But the first half of the day was pretty fun. James especially enjoyed it. So much so that he still thanks Heavenly Father for the fun time at Lagoon every time he says his prayers. So cute! I just love this picture of him--pure joy:

And here is our little dancer girl, ready to perform at Lagoon:

We finished up June with the annual dance recital. James also took tumbling at the dance school, so he was able to be in the recital as well. Here they are afterward, in the traditional "taking of the pictures after the performance" ritual...

Little diva striking another pose (this girl loves to be photographed):

A family shot! Crazy!

The company Joel works for always sponsors a fun little family event or two every year. In July, they had a mountain side picnic in Deer Valley where a cover band was playing ABBA. Joel and I decided to go (sans kids) and make a weekend out of it. We hadn't been away together since August of 2006 (three years!), so it was LONG overdue. We had SO much fun! I can't wait to do it again. Hopefully long before another three years has passed...

One morning Joel and I decided to take the little boys out to breakfast and to the Hill Aerospace Museum to check out the airplanes. They had a good time, and I got some cute pictures:

Sam would go up to every plane's wheel and try to roll them--lol. None of them budged, but he wasn't going to give up trying!

James was absolutely fascinated by the simulators. Following this experience, he firmly decided he wanted to be an "air pilot" for Halloween.

And just like the previous year, we made
one last outing to Eccles Dinosaur Park a week or two before school started.

...and that wraps up our uneventful, but pretty nice summer. Stay tuned for first day of school and a smattering of soccer pictures!
