Being ABCC certified allows me to be confident that I can compete for clinical chemistry/toxicology positions across the country. From a clinical licensing perspective, having ABCC certification was essential to obtaining a Clinical Chemist director license in the State of California. To me, someone with ABCC certification signifies that they are commitment to our profession and have achieved a high level of success.

The ABCC credential speaks for itself—it indicates a level of knowledge, training, and expertise in our field.  People with a variety of educational backgrounds may serve as clinical consultants, and board certification provides a common baseline.  In my current position, I provide consultation to clients from across the United States, and board certification helps define my role.

My board certifications in clinical chemistry and toxicological chemistry have provided me with professional and career opportunities that would be unattainable otherwise. The academic rigor required to successfully obtain ABCC certification is recognized by many as the most comprehensive and intensive in its class. As a practicing clinical chemist in the United States, obtaining ABCC certification was the best choice I could have made.
