Here is our little one a couple weeks ago- hand in mouth. :) I think that the first trimester is synonymous with having a messy house and dirty dishes- well, it would have been if Adam wasn't AMAZING and did everything including school! I am slowly starting to feel better- although I have a prescription that is also really helping- and joy of joys, I will probably feel GREAT right as Adam finishes up his summer term. But the good news in that is that he won't spend his whole break like he did the week in between spring and summer terms- devoting every minute to me my kids and my house. What a great guy!!!!
Many- MANY thanks to everyone who has been and is still praying for this miracle!
Caitlyn has told me that she found out it was a girl. Bryant is determined it should be a boy. Big surprise huh?
So here is a funny story. A few weeks ago, Bryant started falling in love with the hose out back. The only problem was he kept wanting to change every time he got a little wet. I kept telling him that if he was choosing to play in water, that meant he was choosing to be wet. He didn't go for that, and so he would run in and change and kept getting new clothes wet. I said, "Bryant, you are going to have to put on a swimming suit- I do not want to do that much laundry." So I put his swimming suit on and sent him back outside. Five minutes later he came in and said, "mom, I need a new swimming suit, this one is wet!" I burst out laughing. "No! that is the whole point bud!" He has now gotten the idea.
HA HA HA HA HA!!! As I typed that last part up who runs in, but Caitlyn, in a dripping swimming suit, and runs back out in her other one!!! Little stinker!

Best thing about twins
So one thing I absolutely LOVE about twins is how they play together. We watched Tangled this morning and now the kids are playing it out. I hear Caitlyn calling, "Eugene!" and Bryant runs to her side saying "what!" and then they start singing some version of "I have a dream I have a dream I have a dream...." So fun. I totally remember acting out movies with my brothers when we were little. It is cool to see my own kids do it too.

Trax Train Showdown

I ride Trax one day a week (Monday's) due to a fieldwork that I am doing in West Valley. The train I got on today is currently listed on KSL.com. We were riding along and felt a slight "bump" (it didn't even jerk us really badly at all) followed by a bumpy grinding before we came to a stop. We looked out our window and there was a pickup truck with the back of the bed smashed in and the contents of the truck (not the driver) all over the road. It got hit by the train, then swung around and stopped on the southbound tracks. It did NOT get hit again, but was blocking the southbound train which had to stop moments later. I called 911, they had already gotten multiple calls, 2 ambulances showed up very quickly, and I realized that if I missed my bus I would be stranded in SLC without any way of getting back to Pleasant Grove (that I knew about). So, everyone was getting off the train, and I ran like the wind from 900 S. 200 W. to 400 S. and Main in downtown SLC. I BARELY caught the Cedar Hills express and got home at normal time. Wow.

Silvereye
I have to send a very gracious thank you to my mission friend Gerry "Silvereye" Clark and his wife for their generosity.
Catherine, McKay and I have been working on writing a Western movie to shoot in the summer with our kids. One of the most crucial pieces of western wear (and most expensive) that all cowboys need is a bona fide holster. While on my mission for my Church, I met the best leather-working, knife maker in the business. A few weeks ago, I asked him about instructions on how to make my own holster, and he was kind enough to send me the following from his own stock:

I must say, I was quite excited about it as was my twin brother, (my wife says that is an understatement). So, once again, thank you so much for your generosity Bro. and Sis. Clark!

Family
Hey all -
This is Adam. I just have a few cool family-oriented items I wanted to post. The first is a time-lapse I created yesterday of dinner at the Perkshires. Make sure to click on full screen (click the play button, then the little square in the lower right hand corner next to the words 'YouTube' for those of you who may not know how). Also, view it in 1080 HD if you have a fast internet connection (click on the little gear cog in the lower right corner of the screen and select 1080 at the top).
The second is a fan chart of my and Catherine's families. It can be found for you or your family at www.createfan.com, an LDS Church sponsored service available to everyone. It allows you to find your genealogy. We Perkins have some work to do. I think we should make it a goal to work on filling in the blanks together. What say ye all Perkins/Grapes/Adams/Markham/Crawford/Rees/Francis/ clans? I think it would also be fun to go to the temple together and start doing this work as a family. I think it would make a temple trip during a family reunion all that much more meaningful. Tell me what you think.

Haircuts! plus a little smile
I am a terrible hair cutter. I have botched so many haircuts it is embarrassing. But last night and this morning I cut the kids' hair and I am not embarrassed!!! Caitlyn's hair was getting longer- but sadly the previous haircut left a really thin layer at the bottom. Plus, last summer she chopped her own hair and we have been keeping it short to let that grow out. May be the next haircut I can let it stay a little longer. But, at least she looks cute in a bob.

Also, Why is it that kids put on their clothes and shoes backwards 95% of the time?

Even the fire hat is backwards!
Here's Bryant's latest quote. He was telling me some story about Superman. I was not really paying a lot of attention. But then he said, "...and Superman flew him to the rescue- the rescue is Superman's house." I started laughing. Bryant says "to the rescue!" all the time, and never realized he thinks it is a location :)

Hello Again
Well, a few weeks ago one of Adam's sisters moved out to New York for grad school. So now, two of his sisters live out of state, and lots of our extended family live out of state. I have recommitted myself to keeping this updated especially for them. We'll see how well I do!
The other day, while at a choir rehearsal, I was talking to a new friend who has triplets. (I was asking her how on earth she managed:) She asked me about my twins and how old they were etc. When I responded that they are three her reply was, "Oh, that is an age." My mom, who was sitting next to her started laughing and said, "She needed to hear that!"
Yes, it certainly is an age! The last few weeks have been so crazy. Attitudes flaring up, independence bursting out like crazy- especially in the form of (but not limited to) not wanting to go potty, not wanting to go to bed, major fits when the tv is turned off, or I said no to more treats. In fact, the tv and sugar were both elimintated completely for a while much to Bryants utter dismay. Oh- and not to mention BED TIME!!!! Do they make tents for twin size beds? Crib tents were the best thing ever and I desperately miss them. Caitlyn's practically permanent new bed is ours- until we go to bed. But she still can wiggle, entertain herself and do who know what to keep herself awake. She kept herself awake until ten at least twice this week. I was at my wits end. I had run out of ideas and methods. And I am positive that the lack of sleep has contributed to all of the independence, attitude, tantrum issues as well. BUT, after a week of sleep, sugar and tv nazi mom, I think things are calming down- knock on wood.
Amidst all of their chaos, they are saying the cutest things, doing the cutest things, and growing up right before my eyes. Bryant said tonight "izza-bizza" Adam said, "what is that?" "It is my Spanish word." "Oh, what does it mean in Spanish?" "It means sometimes when you go down to Spanish Fork you splash in the water." (or something like that) haha. One of Caitlyn's favorite things in the world is to pretend I am Caitlyn and She is Catherine. As soon as I call her mom I have her wrapped around my finger and can basically get her to do anything. She loves to pretend to make me food. The other day when I was making some crackers she ran to get her cooking stuff and we did it together. She told me that some day she could do real cooking "over there" pointing to the oven. I am flattered that she loves to imitate everything I do.
Adam is going to have a pretty hard schedule this semester. He has 5 classes, a field work experience and got a research assistant job which helps reduce tuition and gives a small stipend. I have a feeling we won't see him much- and when we do, he will be working on school. He is nervous, but still glad he got the job. May be with him being so busy the semester will go faster...
I am doing the same old stuff- house stuff, cooking, preschool and of course my sweet and energetic kids. Ha I just remembered one time years and years ago when my roommate Abby- although we might have still been in high school- mentioned something about how Adam and I were going to be in for it because we both talked so much. Boy was she right! We have two chatterboxes! Of course, they both get a little shy around new people- especially Caitlyn, but boy, if they are comfortable, watch out. In fact, I will upload some highlights of a story Caitlyn told Adam one Sunday morning. She went on for 18 minutes until Adam had to cut her off to go to a meeting. I edited it down to 6 and a half minutes. You should at least listen to the beginning and a bit before the end. I think the whole thing is absolutely hilarious- not that I am biased or anything!
