Wadi Madbah
We went just over the UAE-Oman border with friends this weekend to check out a Wadi (Oasis) that I had seen on the internet. Turned out to be lots of fun. Camping season is coming to a close, though. 6 sweaty bodies in one tent on hot rocks = bad sleep. We had lots of fun anyway.
Some cool deserted houses on the way.
They will never smile at the same time.
Jess Robertson and Bethany Soelberg
Dan and Jess
Nate and Bethany
The gang heading in.
We only had one towel so they had to share. What cuties.
The water is cold... I wasn't ready to get in yet. Matt is rude.
The Adseros (Matt needs some sun).
The Soelbergs
The Robertsons
Caught some tadpoles, or as Eldon says, "Tadapolts"
Dan got up that high, and didn't see a safe way down...
So he went up all the way and hiked down.
Jess teaching Bear to kiss frogs
Hypnotizing frogs.
Going in for the kill.
Bethany doesn't seem to think it's a good idea. Go CeCe!!
Matt and Bennett choosing the wrong.
I wanna eat him (Eldon that is).
The three pools. Photo Cred: Jess. She climbed a cliff for this one (of course).
I did get in when the sun came out.

Spring Break Randomness
Went to the Mother of the Nation Festival at the beach across the street from us. Pretty amazing the lengths they go here to make things festive.
Went biking at the race track again. Eldon requested I take this photo.
Racetrack with the Cores. Lots of boy energy when we get together!!
Got year round passes to Yas Waterworld. Eldon played hard there.

Jebel Shams with the Boy Scouts
Matt is in the Young Men's presidency, so we had the pleasure of accompanying the YM on their campout it Oman. Jebel Shams is the highest peak in Oman and the surrounding area is considered the Grand Canyon of the Middle East. It was very impressive and worth the 5 hour drive.
We drove on some gnarly dirt roads in the minivan to get there.
Slept in the car cause there were LOTS of rocks. Woke up to some goats.
Pretty amazing panorama.
Cute little dweebs.
Goats climb trees...
Our fearless scout master.
Too many places for Eldon to fall to his death so I carried him.
That cute little baby in there.
Lunch in the ruins.
Looked at these terraced fields. Reminds me of the mountains in China.
The stamped designs on the door are so cool.
My boys were so mad I wouldn't let them repel. Just 4 more years till Lincoln's a boy scout.
Goats climb trees part 2.
Goat farm at the trail head. Love the blue door.
