Celebrating my 21st birthday!

Today is my 21-month birthday! Mommy is taking me to the Bay Area Discovery Museum, where they are throwing me a big party. It's called Noon Years Eve. Everyone will be in the streets partying and celebrating me-isn't that cool!

Being 21-months really has it's perks. Daddy lets me play with a sword now, for instance. I chase him around the house and slay him. Then he falls down and rolls on the ground. So now, after I slay him, I lay on the ground and roll. I don't know why everyone thinks that's so funny.

I also get to go down the big kids slides by myself! Yesterday we went to Mission Dolores Park where they have slides for kids as big as me.

Then I got to go out to lunch and order my own meal! I didn't have to share with mom or dad. Being 21 is the best!

ah ah ah ah...

Image
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I was a little worried that I might not get to open all of my gifts; due to the Mayan apocalypse and all; but everything worked out just fine.

I'm learning tons of words every day, but I'm not saying all of them yet. I spit out a new one every few days, just to keep it interesting, but mostly I'm just storing them up until I get old enough to really impress people with full sentences!

My new favorites are: "Grandma, Grandpa, papa, woof-woof, moo, cracker, and buga-buga-buga-buga-buga-ball." That's a football in case you don't know. Oh, and I can also say, "Oh man," and "come on!"

Mom and Dad finally bought me a winter coat so I can go outside in less than 60 degree weather. Here I am at our new neighborhood park Angelo-ing it up. Did you see that industrial sit-and-spin! I can't wait until I weigh more to kick that baby into full gear. BTW, I weigh 25 lbs now!

Hey....have you heard of the song, "If all of the rain-drops..." If not, I highly recommend it. We discovered it a week or so ago and it already has 800+ plays on our itunes. I ask for it as soon as I wake up and at all times when it is not playing. I just point to the computer and say, "ah ah ah.." which is the chorus. Oh man, it's so awesome. When Mommy and Daddy don't want to hear it on repeat anymore they try to trick me by turning it off and turning on Pandora kids music, but I know better. I immediately point to the computer and say, "ah ah ahh" so that it gets turned back on. Come to think of it, it's not playing right now! I'll take care of that.

"ah ah ah ahh..." (points to computer)

New Camera

Well, well, well...we purchased a new camera back in September and finally figured out how to load video. So, go get some popcorn and relax. We have a few to show you.

Here I am with my Tia Jaclyn. She is really pretty so I stole a few kisses. Check out what I learned how to do at the playground! Daddy loves lifting me up again, and again, and again. They just built a brand new playground in our neighborhood. Mommy will have to take some videos there soon. Here I am at our old playground climbing the big slide.
I'm sure you've seen from my photo gallery, that I'm a total beach bum now. Here is my first water adventure at Ocean Beach. Next, I went out alone with Mommy. My favorite is the beach at Crissy Field; so much fun!

Last week, I went to the old country to visit my ancestors again. They have so many leaves there! I've never seen leaves quite like this.  I stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I helped them organize and do all kinds of fun stuff.
ImageImage

I was also lucky enough to see my Nana and Poppy! That was a special day because I got my driver's permit. No wonder my daddy loves Jeeps so much-they are hella fun!

Yep, I'm a big boy now; 20-months!

I'm too sexy for my socks

Yep, those are mine; my sexy toes. I love my sexy toes so much I refuse to wear socks. I want everyone to see them. Whenever I'm out in my stroller I take them off and throw them out. Sometimes Mommy catches them. Usually I just arrive home with no socks.

Image
Yesterday Mommy was pretty happy because as we were walking to the park we came upon a sock I had discarded a few days earlier. It was all wet and muddy but she picked it up from the side of the walkway and put it in the stroller bag. It kind of didn't matter though because later that walk she found out I had discarded another sock. I guess she'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if that one is in the leaves somewhere. Hey! I'm just trying to make it interesting. We walk almost the same way to the park e-v-e-r-y day; I'm just trying to add some spice with a game of find the lost sock!

Park Life

Well, Mommy and Daddy are back from their trip and they've fully recovered. I hear you could see a million stars out there. Sounds cool, hope I get to see those one day. Here are a few videos Mommy took with their point-and-shoot.

Packing

Mommy and Daddy are busy packing for their trip. You wouldn't believe how long it takes to pack for one little hike up a mountain.

So, I was taking a look at some of my photos and videos that I hadn't posted.

Here I am at the Auten Lakehouse in Michigan. I'm really good at splashing as you can see. I got some practice beforehand here at the Ann Arbor Children's museum.

Now that I'm a big boy, Mommy let's me go down the slide all by myself! Usually I go on my stomach but sometimes I even sit and push off on my seat. Maybe someday I'll get to do THIS!
Here I am doing one of my first rock climbing problems. Can't wait to get into a harness!

Will you marry me?

ImageWho's that beautiful lady you ask? Well, that's my Violeta. She watches me when Mommy and Daddy aren't around and also teaches me Spanish. I like her a lot. So much that when I grew up I planned on asking her to marry me. But it turns out someone beat me to it. Some guy named Jeremy that is much taller and older than me. Humph...

But... she asked me to be their ring bearer! I'm beyond excited. I'm going to practice every day.  She said if I forget what to do that it will be ok. She just wants to see me all cute and dressed up. I can live with that.

That Jeremy is a nice guy too so I guess I'm not that upset. He's going to come over and play with me a little bit while Mommy and Daddy are hiking Mt. Whitney next weekend. Three whole days without Mommy and Daddy. Whoo hoo!

Summer!

Woot woot- it's summer time!  A little shuffle board and lots of splashin' and relaxin'!

Check out my photo gallery to see my latest adventure in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Image
Here I am after a long day in the sun. I said "da da" for the first time, that was mommy's favorite part.

My favorite part was picking up rocks and throwing them in the river. Mommy thinks I'm going to be a professional baseball player when I get older. Mostly it's because I chuck everything I can get my hands on; but really she thinks it's because baseball is the most boring-est sport ever invented and it will be karma for her to have to sit through all of those long games.

New Attitude

Image
So you may be wondering why it's been over a month since I last wrote in my blog. Well, do you remember that personal ad I posted looking for a new girlfriend--no one responded! Ugh...I felt a little depressed about that. Plus my Fisher Price phone girlfriend kept calling me and I was going a little postal over here. So after she called me AGAIN for the 100th time last Wednesday, I decided to throw my phone in the tub; I just couldn't take it anymore.

Now...(sigh)...I'm at peace. No more phone calls, just me and purple dinosaur listening to my favorite tunes. Now that I'm back to my old self I thought I'd update you on a few fun things I've been doing lately. Take a look at some videos mommy took of me lately. A few that were taken with her phone don't have sound. Something to do with someone using her microphone as a slobber collector. I don't really know anything about that.

Climbing sand dunes at Ocean Beach

Me building some rad buildings at the Bay Area Discovery Museum

Building some sand castles

Getting my Vitamin C

Balancing act

Future race car driver

My first Pinata

Dance party with Uncle Luis

Library music time

Exploring at the park

Also, Grandma Susie said she can no longer view photos from my gallery. Is anyone else having that problem? If so, I guess I don't need to keep updating it for everyone to download. Most of the good ones are on Facebook anyways.

Ok, hope you're having a great day! See you later!

420 Day

I'm not sure if you know it but 4/20 is a holiday in San Francisco. Mommy and Daddy forgot all about it when they decided to take me to the Mission to see the new Helen Diller playground. It was awesome! So many new things to play with and climb on. Their signature slide is so high you have to climb a mini half dome and take a bridge to get there! I buzzed on down it a few times with daddy. Man, he knows how to fly!

There were a lot of friendly people there today. Everyone was yelling out their car window, "Happy 420 day everybody!" Then at 4:20 everyone in the crowd started cheering. It was very peculiar.

Why is everybody so happy I wonder? Mommy and Daddy just shrugged and said, "That's San Francisco for you."

Ladies....

So I'm all about getting me a new girlfriend. My current girlfriend that calls me on my Fisher-Price telephone is too clingy. She's always calling me like 100x a day and saying, "Hello? Who's there? I love you!" 100x a day! I'm like girl...I'm too young to be in love. I need to play the field a bit more.

Image
So I decided to put out a personal ad on one of those meet a hot baby websites. Let me know if you think my ad needs any editing. If not I'll post it tomorrow and hopefully have a few new dates by next weekend. Ba-zing! Let me know which photo you like better. I think the blocks photo might be too sexy. I'll probably go with the second one...shows I can hold my own cup and I look kind of mysterious don't you think?

AMB seeking SFCPB (adorable male baby seeking female single cutie-pie baby) for fun, friendship and maybe some 5:00 p.m. bath-time. I am 12 months old, have a pet alligator, my own crib, and I'm a drummer in a band called Just Angelo. I'm neat and tidy, enjoy a good game of hide-and-seek, and can pop with the best of them. You are in my neighborhood, enjoy opening and closing doors, eating books, and knows her way around a Gymboree . Must be OK with a boy that wears pink. (Hey, that's the color my daddy was wearing when he met mommy so I'm hoping it works for me too). If you fit this description and want to meet up; ring me on my Fisher-Price phone. The number is 555-1234.

!!!!!!

WE GOT IN! WE GOT IN!!!! AUGUST 24TH!!!!

Mommy and Daddy are doing the happy dance at 6:00 am so I thought it was time to post.

Oh, ya-the answer to my joke is a piano. It will kill you dead.

In Suspense!

What is black and white and when it falls out of a tree it can kill you?
Well, you're going to have to wait until tomorrow until I'll tell you.

Why? Because if I have to be in suspense then so do you.

So tomorrow is the day Mommy and Daddy find out if they win the lottery to hike Mt. Whitney. They only let 60 people hike it a day during the summer months and there are over 7,000 applications each year to be one of the lucky lottery winners. We find out tomorrow!  Why on earth anyone would want to hike over 14,400 ft with 99 switchbacks? Beats the hell out of me. I think it has something to do with this mid-life crisis thingy I keep hearing about.  Some people want to ride motorcycles and get tattoos like Aunt Jaclyn, other people buy fancy toys like Daddy with his camper-mobile, I guess people like Mommy just want to hike themselves into exhaustion. So, we are all sitting here in suspense...

I'll let you know tomorrow!

Chinese Grandpa

So I've decided I need to get me a Chinese Grandpa and here's why...

Mommy helps all of the homeless people in our neighborhood by making them care packages. You know PBJs, clothes from the lost and found at the gym, chap sticks, etc. and Daddy just signed up to be a Bone Marrow Transplant donor (did they tell him there is a needle involved in that?). But what do I do? Nothing but hang out all day looking cute. So I've decided it's time to get a Chinese grandpa.

I had Mommy call the Meals on Wheels people and they're going to set me up with some lucky old guy in our neighborhood that needs a little cheering up Swoop Style! She finished her training already to be a "friendly visitor" and now they are busy looking for the perfect match for me. Basically, I go over their house (with Mommy of course) once every two weeks for about an hour. It's perfect for me! There are a ton of old people in my neighborhood and so many of them want to pinch my cheeks and poke my belly each time they see me. I don't know for sure I'll get a grandpa or even a Chinese grandpa but since that is the demographic of my neighborhood (I know-I have a big vocabulary for a one year old) that's probably what I'm going to get.

Yippie! I'm so excited! Well not as excited as I am about next week. It's my birthday and all and Nana and Poppy are coming to see me. I heard there will be presents...and pizza...and wine. Wine that Mommy can drink! She doesn't feed me now at night so she has a small block of freedom now for things she used to eat. Something called chocolate and Fernett. Who knows what those are but they sure make Mommy happy so I'm all for 'em. Yep...life is good!

Image
Go ahead and download any photos from my gallery you want to keep. As soon as my visitors leave I'll have to swap them out with all the new ones. Here I am webcamming with my cousin Tyler. Don't we look precious!

-Peace out

Mommy and Daddy tell me that when I turn four years old I get to go to Jaclyn and Luis camp in Davis for while they go to a place where kids aren't allowed like Hawaii. Since I'm learning Spanish with my babysitter Violeta I thought that now would be a good time to go check things out and see what kinds of things I'll be doing there.

Image
Oh man- it was so much fun! At J and L camp they let you stay up really late and skip naps too. When we got into the car to go home I totally crashed and snored like it was my 21st birthday in Las Vegas. Ya, Camilo really lives it up there. We read stories, went to the farmer's market to buy our lunch and then Tita Jaclyn cooked us a feast of local veggie goodness. YUM! I can't wait to go back. Check out the photos in my gallery (to the right) to see some of the stuff we did.

The BEST part was Daddy got a call from Poppy while we were there and he told him he and Nana were flying in to San Francisco for my birthday! That's the best birthday present ever! I'm excited to try my first pizza with them at Tony's place in North Beach. I promised Poppy I would eat my first pizza with him and my birthday seems like the perfect time to do it.

Life is good and I'm glad all you people out there reading my blog (all 5 of you) are sharing it with me. OK. I'm still really tired from that crazy Davis house--time to get some sleep!

Wow, being 11-months old is pretty cool. I've decided there's too many fun things to see so I'd better start moving faster to see them. Here I am taking some of my first steps. Mom and Dad are feeding me all types of new foods too. I now eat baked kale, acai, lentils, cantaloupe, chickpea patties, nan, Indian food, pineapple, papaya, and gluten free pancakes! I used to not like peas or salmon but now they are yum, yum yum!

Since I'm learning to walk now bedtime has been a lot more fun. Sometimes I like to practice hopping from one end of the crib to the other. Add a sleep-sack to the mix and I'm all kinds of crazy. And guess what? If you stand and bounce there are springs in the matress! Why did I just figure this out? Jumping is hella fun at nap time.

In other news, Mommy just had a birthday and she bought me a new stroller with some of her birthday money-isn't that nice of her? It's a BOB jogging stroller which Mommy has named "Rolls."  Now I ride in style and can barely feel any bumps as Mommy takes me to the ocean and back every morning. Daddy said that he might try the jogging feature sometime too but I'm not holding my breath. Daddy is more of a go to Starbucks and get a Chai kind of guy. (I know, right?!)

So I saved the best for last--I'm going back to the old country to visit my ancesters again this summer! Be on the look-out for me mid July. I hope to engage in some cultural activities like watching the light box, eating a salad with Jello and/or a marshmallow in it, and playing at a playground in something called McDonalds. We'll see. I'll be 15-months then!

WTF?

ImageCan you believe I've met maybe 30 kids in my life and three of them were also named Angleo?! WTF (Where's the Franks?)

I met one in my gymnastics play group and thought, "Ok, that's weird." But since then I've met not one but TWO more at the playground near my house. Why did my mom have to name me the most popular name on the block? Why not Michael or John or something nobody has heard of. Oh well, I'm cooler than all those other Angelos. To prove it here is a list of cool things I learned just this week:

How to climb up a slide, how to clap, how to high-five, how to point at the decals on my wall, how to walk backwards with my wagon, how to say "Mamma", how to pick up the tray on my high-chair and throw it on the floor, and how to flirt with the ladies. Actually I've been flirting with the ladies since day one but Mommy just caught me. Every time I see a pretty lady at the park or out and about I tilt my head down so I can bat my eyelashes at her. They LOVE it! As of right now I prefer brunettes.

Oh ya, I also got my 5th tooth today. All those other Angelos can suck it.

Smarty Pants

That's me-I'm a smarty pants these days. Ring stacking? I'm on it. Drinking from a sippy-cup? Yep. Pointing at the decals on my wall? You betcha! I'm learning how to do a lot of things lately.

Here's a video of Mommy's favorite new learned behavior. Let me explain: The other day I was hiding behind the door and repeatedly peeking my head around the corner (swooping of course) at Mommy. She would laugh and then I would hide again and do it all over again. The next day, I tugged on the drapes which I'm not supposed to do, and to try to get out of trouble I figured I would just make Mommy laugh again. So I repeatedly ducked my chin over my shoulder (thinking I was doing the swoop from the day before).  Turns out that was even more funny to her. So I do a bit of this wild head motion every day to get a few good laughs. Not laughing? Humph...I guess you had to be there.

Apartment for Rent

Image
So, the apartment above us has been vacant since last June. Can you believe no one wants to live above a cute baby like me?? Every time people come to check it out, I always make sure they hear me screaming, "Hey...you...Guys!!!! Come live above me and we'll be friends!" Well no dice so far; maybe they don't speak Baby.

So in case you know any cool people that might want to move in, let me tell you a bit about my hood. It's called the "Outer Sunset" district. Mommy takes me on lots of walks and I get to see all kinds of interesting houses. Some are bright colors, others have dinosaurs glued to them, and others well...just take a look at some of my favorites in my gallery and you'll see what I mean. Viva la Sunset!

We live one block from Irving Street which is where all of the shopping is located. Our daily walk usually includes a trip to Andronico's which is our favorite grocery store. Other common stops are the library, coffee-house, pizza parlor, taco shop, hot-dog shop (Daddy just likes their root beer), ATM, Wallgreens, post-office, hard ware store, cupcake place, ice-cream shop, and health food store. Since we go to the same places all of the time we are getting to know some of the owners or people that work there pretty well. The best part is that there is always something new opening. Today we had shaved-ice at the new desert place. MMmmm...

Another one of our favorites is called, "Easy Money." It's a convenience store run by this crazy Polish lady named Renata. She does her hair up in these funny curls and sells all kinds of discounted expired goods in her store. The sign on their store front reads, "If we don't have it-you don't need it!" Anyway, we go in there for odds and ends some days and Renata is always nice to me.

If you like to get your hair or nails did, this is also the place for you. Daddy counted one night on our walk home from Andronico's-there were over 25 salons on one street! Wowzers!

So there you have it.

In other news, Daddy just made reservations for my birthday! We are going to a place called Joshua Tree National Park. I'm sure I'll like it. It's supposed to be a playground full of rocks, needles, snakes and other things babies like. Yay!!!

Hello 2012!

Hi Everybody!

Image
Life has been good in 2012. Our winter has been very mild. Except for a few rainy days it's been sunny and 65 almost every day! We go to the park on 19th avenue about 2x a day (pictured above). I like to swing, climb on the slides, and sometimes Mommy lets me crawl around on the grass as long as I promise not to eat too many leaves. I hear it's supposed to start raining this week though. Inside my favorite things to do these days are: 1. opening and shutting doors (OMG, I'm laughing just thinking about it-it's so much fun), 2. pushing my wagon or climbing inside to have Daddy push me and 3. build cup towers. Daddy is wicked awesome at cup building. Take a look at some of his master pieces in my gallery.

Image
Oh, and my big news--my new friend Shelby Claire Alvarado was born on 1/10. So I haven't gotten a chance to meet her yet but Mommy and Daddy say she's really pretty. I can't wait to show her all of the cool things to do in the outside world!
