Leveraging Fuel Cell Technology to Advance Conagra's Climate Change Goals
Conagra Brands is advancing its science-based climate goals through deployment of solid oxide fuel cell technology at key manufacturing sites.
These projects, structured under a power purchase agreement (PPA), deliver zero-capital investment, zero operation and maintenance costs, predictable energy costs, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Fuel cells provide high efficiency and nearly zero air pollution, offering both immediate Scope 2 reductions and long-term decarbonization potential.
The Troy and Archbold, Ohio installations are projected to stabilize energy costs, generate substantial savings, and offset total site load while contributing renewable additionality to the PJM grid.
By leveraging fuel cell technology, Conagra demonstrates the business case for sustainability: aligning operational resilience with environmental responsibility, strengthening brand reputation, and securing lasting value for employees, customers, and investors.
