LIFE ReLiGHT is a seven-year project funded by the European Union’s LIFE program, which supports environmental conservation, circular economy, climate action and energy transition projects in Europe. The project has an estimated cost of 7.8 million euros, with 60% public funding.
The main objective of the project is to increase resource efficiency by demonstrating the high capacity of a storage solution with batteries from electric cars after the end of their first life, whose current destination would be waste.
The project Reuse of Batteries in the cab sector in Barcelona (ReTaBar) aims to know the needs and feasibility of the use of second life batteries in cabs and also the use and reuse of batteries that no longer meet the requirements demanded for use in cabs, in other applications. This is a sector study belonging to the call for grants for projects to promote the Circular Economy promoted by the Agència de Residus de Catalunya.
