Sewing Gifts

I can finally post these pictures.  These are all the fabrics I bought so I could make my mom a bag for Christmas.  There are 32 fabrics here:
Image
These are the rice  bags I made for my coworkers for Christmas.  We are always cold or have some kind of ailment, so hopefully they'll put them to good use:
Image
I organized the fabrics, so I could start planning the layout of the patchwork bag.  It turned out that I had a couple duplicates:
Image
Doug and I searched through 1000's of coins to find pennies from each year between 1989-1014.  We finally found every year in that range:
Image
I cleaned the pennies in Coke.  I was supposed to soak them for 24 hours (but NO longer than that or it would begin to dissolve the pennies!).  I only soaked them for 2-3 hours and they were pretty and shiny.
Image
My sister in law, Tammy, makes everyone cards throughout the year.  This card was perfect for Doug because of the mustache he's been sportin' for the last month and a half:

The mustache:

Shiny pennies after a the Coke bath:

I lined up all the pennies and used the 25 years my mom and Glenn have been married to make the 25 and the rest of the pennies below are the other years they've been together:
Image
It looked really boring so I added a few embellishments ... well, I ended up cracking the glass when I tried to put the glass back on.  WHOOPS!!!  I still need to replace the glass, so I can give it to them.  I already showed it to my mom:

Trouble Makers

All three of them have laser eyes staring at me.  Doug's are red, Ruger's are yellow and Winnie's are green and yellow:
Image
The dogs love going anywhere we go.  Sometimes we'll just drive them around the neighborhood, so they'll have a little entertainment.  They seem to think it's amazing!  Doug took them to return our Redbox movies.  They aren't allowed in the front, but Winnie thinks she can drive when Doug gets out of the car:
Image
We are such rebels!!!  Can you believe we left our trash cans out for over 24 hours?!?!?  What hooligans!!!  The HOA actually sent us a letter, picture included, that our cans were out too long.  Ooooooo, I'm telling!!! Oh wait, some bored, lame neighborhood patrol already tattled on us.  HAHAHAHA:
Image
I saw this picture online and it's beautiful and sad at the same time.  It's a sunset in the King fire area:

This is a sunrise from a couple weeks ago:

Weekend Errands

Becky and I picked up lunch last Friday and she made me a soft serve cone.  Little did I know she's a cone master!!  I've known her for 12+ years and she has a hidden talent ;).  She made an elephant!!!:
Image
Doug was at the gym on Saturday and Ruger kept wanting to look out the window.  He was driving me crazy, so I rolled up the blinds and he was SO happy to see the neighborhood!:
Image
He cried while he stood there too:
Image
Doug came home with a nice bed for downstairs too.  It has lots of padding and memory foam too.  It's big enough for both of the beasties to cuddle if they want.  Of course they made themselves comfy:
Image

Image
Ruger doesn't want to cuddle with us, but while I was sitting on the floor I guess he felt like he wanted some extra attention.  He brought his ball and used my leg as a pillow:
Image
Doug laid on the bed to see how comfy it really is and Winnie climbed in to lay with him.  Ruger stood nearby and put his paw on Doug's chest.  I'm guessing it was a warning, "Get out of my bed or I'll fart on you!":

Winnie's Phteven picture!!:

We went to dinner with Ben and Breanna, then Breanna and I went on a quick shopping trip for a few sewing supplies.  Doug went to get a massage and the rest of us hung out and watched a Christmas movie.  Nelope was my best friend and wanted all my attention and cuddles:
Image
We paid for it when we got home!  Ruger and Winnie went CRAZY because of the dog smells on us.

Doug trying to be creepy with his 'stach and Nelope laying in his lap:

Nelope loves Doug!!:
Image
My buddy, Cole, and I were hanging out - what a cutie!!!:
Image
Then he had the drunk, sleepy look going on:
Image
Black dog problem # 1,002!!!  Good luck washing and drying their blankets and towels!!  This is ONLY after 20 minutes in the dryer!!  GROSS!!:  We even have dog hair tumble weeds rolling around the house.

Winnie just being a goofball:

Rain Storm

I love rain, but I hate driving in it.  It's nice that I have a sunroof, so I can see the sky and rain while I'm sitting at stoplights.  I watched to see how big the puddle would get before the light turned green.  Talk about being bored in traffic LOL:
Image
Doug sent me a picture of a rainbow.  I didn't get to see any that day:
Image
The winds pushed our 10ft x 10ft kennel about a foot and a half away from the house.  We get some crazy winds in our area all the time.  The dogs were very curious and kept sniffing and checking out the gap:
Image
The moon looked really neat after the storm cleared up.  There was a rainbow reflection around the moon.  Too bad pictures don't do it justice!:
Image
I took the dogs out in the storm to get new beds.  I wanted them to have more padding/memory foam to hopefully keep them from having terrible hips down the road.  Winnie decided she loves the beds because she climbed right on it the shelf and made herself at home:
Image
Already relaxing on their new beds and I barely got them in the house:
Image
I think she loves it:
Image
Yep, the crazy does too:
Image
I drove through this calm little patch of standing water.  It looks so peaceful until you hit it at a decent speed and cause a wake. HAHAH:
Image
Winnie likes to be tucked in at night.  Doug tucked her in the other night and she reached out to him when he was saying goodnight:
Image
She's so cute that I had to post another picture:

Scared & Crazy

Our silly dogs were spooning the other day.  I'm glad they cuddle and love each other since Ruger drives her crazy:
Image
For some reason that we can't figure out, Ruger is now scared of the "click" when we turn the TV off.  He will run and hide or climb on us.  I don't even notice the click, but he panics and freaks out.  This is him hiding behind the couch:
Image
I was put on a progesterone medication to stop my month long period.  It worked to stop it for a short while, but it's supposed to start again once the meds are done. BOOOO!!!  I glanced at the side effects and saw it says "mood swings" so I sent a text to Doug with a warning of impending mood swings.  He sent a text back:  "HAHA! I'm focused on the "ibly fatal..."  Yep, he loves me!! He's more concerned about the word fatal than mood swings!!  HAHAHHA

It's almost impossible to see our ninja dog standing on the ledge of the window surveying the backyard:

Table Runner

I did a little Black Friday afternoon shopping and then I spent Friday evening making the table runner and placemats I've been wanting to make.  The outer pattern makes the flowers look 3D:
Image
I used a multi colored thread in a floral pattern for the visual stitching:
Image
My little helpers slept on their blankets and waited for me:
Image
All done!:
Image

Image
The mats flipped over - I like them better this way:
Image
I saw this and wanted to save the idea for later.  It's funny that it mentions not using hot glue because that's probably something I would try - the hot glue will melt when a hot item is placed on it. HAHA:
Image
These two have been cuddling lately.  They're both in the little bed:
