The verdict is in...

Lots else has happened, but for those who don't know, but certainly want to know, we had an ultrasound. We are expecting another baby girl! The due date is still April 1st, although she was measuring about a week larger. (Does that make sense?) Her estimated weight is also a tiny bit bigger than average. But Emery was similar, so we'll see when she comes. Although, Emery came 5 days early, which was great. The baby was a darling during the ultrasound. Moving tons, folding her hands together, tapping her feet, and smacking her mouth open and shut.

Since our last post, school has started for Aaron. He feels like this year is noticeably easier than last. His class load is easier, and he's more comfortable as a teacher. He has a lot of LDS students in his classes, which is kind of fun too. In his 7th period, 3 of the girls are even in our ward, so they see him every Sunday.  He's still biking so we can have the car at home. Hopefully the winter won't be too bad so he can continue to bike.

Joseph has also started school. Tuesdays and Thursdays he goes to a preschool group with 4 friends of ours. He's the oldest, by quite a bit, but it's been tons of fun for him. They read books, learn letters (which he already knows), and do crafts and activities. He loves going and it is a good social experience for him. We all take turns hosting. I've done it twice now. There are 5 kids, ages 2-4. They do really well and it's pretty fun!

Julie's pregnancy is going great. She's not gaining much weight yet (as is her pattern) but the baby is growing great and everything is as it should be. The baby has started kicking a bit more and it's fun to feel. She's the only one who's been able to feel it so far, but it shouldn't be too long before the activity picks up and others will be able to feel the baby's movements as well. Joseph knows now that the baby can hear voices, and he's talking to her a few times. It's so sweet! His name for her is Suzy. We haven't decided yet. :)

Emery is doing great. She's as tall as ever. She's still doing some teething, which has been rough. But her canines are almost in, and then hopefully we'll have a break before her 2 year old molars come in. She's able to open doors now, which means our front door is permanently locked. :)  She can even hold the stair rail and go down on her own. She rarely does, because we hold her hand, but she can if we let her. She's learning more words. Nothing too big yet, but we're starting to ask her to use words, instead of signs, if she uses them often. Her latest new word is please. It's the cutest thing you ever heard. She absolutely loves babies, which hopefully will last until her sister comes.

We are very excited for the upcoming months. We know they will be super busy, but Julie especially, loves the holiday season with Joseph who is now old enough to anticipate and get excited. Being near Aaron's family is great, because some family is better than being near none. We do miss her California family tremendously, but are looking forward to seeing them all at a family reunion in June!

Here are some pictures of our latest to-dos.

Image

Emery is quite the reader, like her brother. We have a giant tub of books in our living room for her to choose from, so she's not constantly bringing them from the bedroom and then leaving them on the floor.

Image

Those are Em's fingers poking out of there. She played peek-a-boo with me one day. It was hilarious. She's not afraid of the dark!

Image

You can't tell, but Em is wearing some make-up. She loves to mimic me when I get ready in the morning. I finally got some little rubberbands so I can do her hair sometimes. She doesn't mind it one bit. It's fun to have her look a bit more girly.

Image

This is the baby's car seat. We had it our for some reason and she insisted on sitting in it and being buckled. She sat in it for a good 5 minutes before asking to get out.

We recently had my brother Travis and his family come visit for a few days. While they were here, we all went to the Litty Bitty Ranch. The kids had a great time, as usual. Especially riding the horses.
Image

Emery didn't ride, but put a helmet on and pet the horse a little bit.

Image

Joseph did ride, and enjoyed it as usual!

Image

We all got to feed the miniature horses. Even Emery did, which surprised me. But she didn't like when they looked to her hands when she didn't have a carrot. That scared her a bit!

Image

This was my first attempt at piggy tails. They're a bit crooked, but so cute! She looked so girly!

Image

And of course, if I take a picture of her, have to take one of him!

Image

In preparation for Halloween, we carved our pumpkin. Aaron had a bit of fun!

Image

Image

The finished product!

Image

We also made haunted houses, like last year. This one was made by me, Aaron and Emery. She liked to pile candy on the plate.

Image

Joseph had tons of fun making his. And the kids were so good not to eat a single piece of candy until we were done. Even then they only had one piece. :)

Image

The Friday before Halloween, we had a small Halloween Party at our place for Joseph's friends. It was tons of fun. Emery was enjoying scooping out pizza sauce, straight from the jar. :)

Image

These are our batty pizzas. Didn't anyone else makes bats out of their bologna, or was it just me?

Image

This was our homemade ghost pinata. He was tougher to break than we thought.

Image

We finally got it open and the kids dug in!

Image

Our ice cubs had gummy worms hidden in them, that came out when the ice melted. You can sorta of see it in the bottom of the glass.

Image

We had some great candy popcorn. Orange of course!

Image

Here we are at a Halloween dinner at Aaron's parent's house. Jadalin and Mckenna were characters from Twilight, and Cadence is a sassy cat.

Image

Joseph was Super Joseph! With his very own cape. The heart was his choice. So sweet, huh? Oh, and the underwear was Aaron's idea. It was quite the hit too.

Excuse the long post, but that's everything! Hope you are all enjoying your holiday season. Keep safe, keep warm, and know we're thinking about you!

Joseph's 4 and more!

So I thought I'd try and post faster than this, but obviously that didn't happen. But I have a good excuse. But I'm not telling that til the end. Here's Joseph's 4th Birthday!! It's so hard to believe he's 4 but he certainly is big enough. It was a great day, and we had a really fun time celebrating!

Image

Here's the birthday station.

Image

We had a fun obstacle course, starting with "the tube".

Image

Hopping over 2 hula hoops, the kicking a ball around a tree.

Image

Then do it all over again on your way back.

Image

It was a lot of fun, and the kids all got an easter egg filled with treats for their trouble.

Image

Then we enjoyed a fantastic picnic lunch, consisting of Joseph's favorite things: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, string cheese, and apples. I even added in chips and juice, special treats for Joseph!

Image

Then we feasted on Joseph's construction cake which Julie made. It was really fun, although he kept asking me why his construction machines were on the cake.

And of course there were presents, which Joseph loved. So we had to share some of his gift-lovin' dance!

Image

Here's Joseph in part of his wedding get-up for Josh and Jessica's wedding, which was August 21st. Joseph had the privilege of being the ring bearer, and I have to add, he got a ton of compliments on doing such a good job. We were very proud of him!

Image

Julie made his bow tie and suspenders to match the wedding colors. They also match Emery's dress!

Image

Coming back to his seat, a job well done!

Image

And you can't have a good blog without a picture of Miss Emery. Here she's wearing an outfit Julie's mom made her. The minute we put it on her, she was twirling around the living room, and tossing out cheesy grins, like the one in the photo. It was such a hoot!

So last, but not least is the reason why I can be excused from not posting sooner.

Julie's Pregnant!

Yup, you read it right. We're expecting baby #3. As of now, the due date is April 1st. (Save the jokes.) We're really excited. This was planned, and we're looking forward to this newest addition next spring. (At least it would be nice it if were spring by that point. Probably wishful thinking.) Joseph is old enough to really be involved. He regularly asks Julie "How's the baby doing?" and every week when she reads her baby update, she tells him what's growing, and how big the baby is. We can't wait until we can learn the sex of the baby and share that with him. It will only increase his excitement and attachment. Julie is 10 weeks along, so just out of the feeling icky phase. So maybe, just maybe, she can post more regularly now. But don't hold your breath. :)

Picture Overload

Since we've taken so long to update the blog, we have tons of pictures to share. First up is Travis's graduation. We drove down to Missoula (back in May) and spent the day with his family as he got his bachelor's degree from U of M. These pictures were all taken by Joseph.

Then we had a blast with Grandma Eris and Grandpa Mike staying at our house. Unfortunately, right after they arrived, Grandma started to get a sinus infection and had to get it taken care of before her hip replacement. Fortunately, it all worked out just fine. Before they left we had a nice photo shoot with them and the kids.

ImageImage
Image
We had so much fun visiting with them (sinus infection and all) and can't wait to spend more time with them!

Next, Joseph was able to have an awesome experience fishing for the first time. He has his very own spiderman fishing pole!

ImageImage
He doesn't quite have the patience for it yet, but he did pretty well even though we didn't catch anything!

ImageImage

These are just some silly photos of the kids and the fun things we do. I don't know what it is with us and putting Emery in Joseph's underwear, but something about it's just so funny!

Our next adventure was at a really fun place here in Kalispell called the Little Bitty Ranch. They have pigs, horses, goats, a turkey, and maybe more that I'm forgetting. The kids were able to go and see all the animals and ride the horses. Joseph jumped right on and enjoyed his ride. Emery watched quietly the whole time, and then when it was her turn, she let me sit her on the horse, sat for a second, and then leaned back to me to come down. I was glad she let me put her on, even if she didn't want to ride, but she gave it a try!

ImageImage

Then we had a rained out Fathe'rs Son Campout. Joseph was pretty excited about it, so Aaron made their own tent in the living room and they slept out there. Maybe next year it won't be pouring rain!

Image

Here are some silly shots of Joseph, doing what he does best. Being silly!

Image
I'm cold!

Image

Dressing up like Papa to go to work!

One morning when Julie came home from her run, she found Emery sitting at breakfast like this. Every morning when she gets dressed, she picks out the bows she wants to wear. Apparently that day she couldn't decide which one she wanted!

ImageImage

And whenever we take a picture of Emery, we have to take a picture of Joseph too!

Image

One day as I was getting breakfast ready, I found this in the cereal box. Didn't know they were still putting prizes in there!

ImageImage

Nope! It was just one of our cars that mysteriously ended up in the cereal container.

More of Emery's silliness wearing Joseph's clothes.

Image

Image

And this lovely mark is where she decided to try sharpening her teeth on our table. That one's not coming out!

The next bunch are from our trip to the Hungry Horse Reservoir. Emery absoutely loved the water. Joseph was excited about finding pirate treasure. In the end it was a great time,  minus the 17 mosquito bites Julie ended up with and Joseph's horrible allergic reaction/infection.

Image

Image

Image

Image

This is his swollen knee. We were in the waiting room waiting to be seen. Turns out he had an allergic reaction to something that bit him and his bites were filling with hot fluid (which was apparently the infection ontop of the allergy). Made for a not so fun day, but all in all Joseph was a real trooper and didn't complain about the discomfort or pain.

ImageImage

And last are the kids with their wonderful creations from Grandma Eris. Emery is sporting her lovely new sundress, and Joseph (without his head in the pic) is holding his brand new car/book bag from her. It's so masculine isn't it? (His last bag was really a very femmy purse that used to be mine.) Oh, and there's another picture of Joseph which I had to take after taking a picture of Emery.

So that's the picture overload. Maybe I'll be good and keep up next time so I'm not blogging multiple months at the same time. :)
