Today

I really should use my blog as an electronic journal.

What have we been up to for the past 14 months?

1.       Working.
Jared is still working for Questar Gas but now he works at the headquarters in Salt Lake for the Thermwise Department.  He has a company vehicle now and no more negative conflicts/battles with the general public.  No more going house to house doing collections and running away from crazed dogs.  Jared is much happier and life is good.  Jared will be going to back to school to finish that bachelor's degree he once started in 2003 now Questar will pay for his education.  Yippee!!
I am workingfor Davis School District.  I accepted a full-time position at Viewmont High teaching Spanish II, III, IV/V and running the Student Government program.  I am super busy with planning, correcting papers, fundraising and getting involved with the school.  I don't know what my future career holds for me but I am kicking a few ideas around.
2.       School.
I am working on a Masters of Education at Weber State University.  I take two classes a semester and will graduate in 2016 (two years).  I would like to take more classes, but working full-time and running the Student Government program at VHS does not permit me to take more classes.  I guess I could take more classes in the summer but I would rather create memories with my darling boys.  After I finish my Master's program, I am kicking around the idea of continuing my education and working towards a Ed.D to become a professor.  I love teaching but I would like the flexibility and higher pay.  I have always considered going into the administration but honestly, I don't think I want to do that anymore.  Preparing potential teachers to become great teachers is what I want to do.  Not that I am this great, all-knowing teacher or anything but I have a passion for teaching and I want to help pre-service educators.
3.       Boys.
Logan is an outstanding athlete, specifically baseball.  He is strong like his daddy.  Logan is creative and really enjoys making and inventing things.  He is also a dancer!  Logan has been dancing Hip Hop with Dance Factory in Bountiful and is quite talented.  He has natural rhythm and enjoys it.  However, once baseball season starts, he will have to say good bye to hip hop.  There is no way he has time to do both.  In the fall, Logan wants to try flag football, wrestling and then basketball.  Logan enjoys school and his first year in Elementary has been so good for him.  His reading and math skills have improved and he is making many friends.  Logan is naturally easy to get along with, makes friends easily and might I add, handsome.

Wyatt is our super cute but stubborn child.  He is determined to never go potty on the toilet and this frustrates all of us, including his teachers at daycare.  Wyatt goes to the Viewmont daycare from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The outside daycare playground is right under my classroom window so I get to watch him play and have a good day.  He loves his friends and teachers and school and is learning many great things.  Wyatt is also very athletic and strong like his daddy.  This year, he will be playing soccer so that will be a lot of fun to watch.  Just a few weeks ago, Wyatt started primary which means that he is officially a “big boy” and not my baby (now if we could just get him potty trained!).
4.       House.
We have zero renters.  We took over our entire house by moving the boys into our bedroom and we took the large bedroom downstairs.  We bought some new appliances and furniture so our house is looking so different.  It feels like a new house ever since we have taken over the entire place.  What a blessing.

Jared remodeled our upstairs bathroom.  He gutted the bathroom down to the nubbins and rebuilt everything.  The bathroom is beautiful with upgraded tile and dark cabinets.  I am so lucky to be married to a talented, hardworking man.

What a GREAT Halloween season.   Logan was a zombie baseball player and Wyatt a fierce tiger.  It was the first year that Logan wanted to be something SCARY which means the "cute costumes" are over and he is growing up.

My Logan is sure growing up to be a handsome, smart, fun boy.  Yes, all mothers think that their child is exceptionally handsome and I am no exception.

My Wyatt is so cute, silly and sweet.  He makes me so happy and I don't know what I would do without my big, little guy!

We love being together.   Jared and I are fortunate that we are home from work around the same time everyday which allows us to spend our evenings as a family.  We are very thankful to have nice, flexible jobs.   Sure, I could be doing something else where I could make more money but I would miss out on so much family time!  Someday, I will climb the career ladder, but in the meantime, I choose to be home by 2:45 and work only 180 days a year.

Fenn Family UPDATE and Fall 2012

April job update:  I took a new job at Viewmont and Bountiful High teaching Spanish I, II, III and IV.  Both schools are great, except for some idiots who drew a bunch of weiners in my Spanish-English dictionarios.   die.   The administration in both schools are nice.  I miss my Stansbury students, facutly, nice classroom and admin but I am in love with my TWO minute commute.  yeah, baby!

Boys update: Unfortunately, we have been burned too many times to continue with in-home daycare. We have enrolled our darling boys in the daycare at one of the schools where I am teaching.  This change has been so awesome and the boys are extremely happy!!   Jared drops the boys off at 8:00 AM and I pick up Wyatt at 2:30.   Then Wyatt and I go pick up Logan from KINDERGARTEN.   So blessed!

Rental update: Another change this year: We have decided to NOT rent our basement apartment (first time in EIGHT years).  Unfortunately, we have been burned too many times to continue having renters in our basement.  {hum, sounds familiar.}  Yeah, life for us has been a bit complicated and STRESSFUL at the Fenn house for the last 12 months.  It was nice to have the extra rental income but peace is much better.  :)

One more note before I go to bed... I personally feel so blessed to have my sweetie by my side through all the crap and garbage that has been thrown at us this past year.  It hasn't been easy but Jared and I have become a stronger couple through it all.  There were times that I just wanted to give up but instead, we ran though it together (figuratively, we don't really run).   Thanks, Heavenly Father, for putting Jared and I through the test.  Bring. it. on.

It looks like I am doing one post per season.  I am sure no one is following this blog except for me anyway.  oh well.  We have been doing lots of hiking this summer and fall.  I love taking pictures of my darling boys.

Preschool Graduation & Memorial Day

Image
Logan learned about the seven continents this year in preschool which has really opened his eyes to the world.  He asks us all kinds of interesting questions like, "Why is Antarctica cold?"  He also learned some awesome facts like the different types of cloud formations. We feel like Logan is very ready for Kindergarten and we are excited to see what awesome things he learns next year.
CONGRATS TO LOGAN!!

My father's mother, Marjorie died at 26 years old in a very tragic car accident.  She left my grandfather with four little children between the ages of six to newborn.  I can NOT imagine the sadness my grandpa and his children went through during that time and the years to come.  Sadly, little facts and speculations are all we know about her life, the accident and the experiences following her death.  The next headstone belongs to Anthony who died from pneumonia on Christmas Eve only two short years after my grandmother died.  My grandfather must have been a complete emotional mess with having to deal with all this personal affliction.  My father was five years old at this time.  My Logan is five-years old.   I have always known these facts about my family, but it is only now that I am a young mother that I can start to comprehend.  It will be a joyous day when my dad can reunite with his mommy and big brother but hopefully not for a long time!!  It will be awesome to meet my grandmother and uncle someday.

Memorial Day picnic and baseball.  I love my boys and my nephews.  We have a lot of fun together!  We wish our nieces could join the fun, but they live in stupid Texas.  boo.  Nothing against Texas, we just hate the fact that they are so far away.   :(

Logan loves baseball and is having a total BLAST!  Soccer was OK, but being a baseball family is super fun. Here are some fun pics of our little baller.
