Asking for the community's assistance
I'm involved with two new non-profit groups, and we're just getting started (aka, no cash). We are looking for someone to help with the creation of a web site for each of these orginazations.

The first one is the American Disability Coalition. They are involved in helping people with spinal cord injuries and amputees. This will involve coping with the disability they have, getting them the assistance they require, and developing support groups to help others as well.

The second is the American Public Library Action Network. This group will go into a rural library, and help them get set up with equipment, fixtures, and finances to make sure that the library becomes a functional part of the community.

If any of the people reading this would be able to assist, or you know of someone that can possibly assist us, please e-mail me at Aleseus@stny.rr.com

....And I think it's gonna be a long long time...
ok, been a LONG time since I've updated, but things are getting a bit hectic over here. some things I've been doing.....

We're having a wine and cheese fund raiser where I work, and i'm trying to get local businesses to contribute. it's kind of like pulling teeth from a bird.. near impossible!

My son (who is autistic) is keeping my other half busy all day, so when I get home, she wants to spend "quality" time with an adult. I can bear with that, but after I get out of work, I need some time to wind down and relax. Getting hit with problems and issues as I am walking though the door is NOT the best way to say hello to someone. I'm normally staying awake well after midnight just so I have some ME time.

And lastly, I've been elected on two different boards of directors for non-profit groups. well, ALMOST non-profit groups. They have not established themselves yet, and are in the process, so I'm getting swamped with paperwork and projects.

It's slowly becoming apparent that I'm dug into a bit of a hole, and I need to get myself out, but it's not going to be easy. well, I have to go tend the flock for now... see ya in a bit.

Tried my first quiz... not exactly what I expected, but I can see whay they mean

FAE
You are blessed with FAERY wings. Beauty,
laughter, life, magic...that's what you are all
about. You are refreshingly innocent and happy
with your life of purity and play. Life's a
game and it's a good one. In your eyes there's
no way to lose! You can be very mischeivous and
have been known to cause trouble, but it's all
in the name of fun and not meant to really harm
anyone. You like to play tricks on people who
aren't quite as bright or clever as you - which
is almost everyone. Nature is the setting you
prefer to be in - Always. Barefoot and wild you
can't be tamed. You're probably a restless
spirit who loves to travel, and quite a
dreamer. Your creativity is astounding and your
art (of whatever media - from writing to
painting to drama) is like something from
another world - ethereal and often very
fantasy-oriented. You can either be a social
butterfly or a loner with their head in the
clouds - but rarely inbetween. You stubbornly
refuse to accept responsibility or to give in
to the wishes of others - unless you feel like
it. You have a strong passion for music and
can't imagine life without it. You'll grow up
someday, but you'll always be a child at heart.
You are adventurous and love to take risks, and
feel a deep connection with the weather,
plants, and animals. You prefer sunshine to
thunder or snow, the warmth of summer to
autumn's chill, and quiet forests to suburban
backyards. Magic through and through, you are
far more powerful than you seem, and are
capable of being extremely passionate. Though
you can be childish, naive, stubborn, and
self-absorbed, one thing is certain - life with
you will never be boring!

Never a dull moment....almost.
Training a new volunteer for the library. She's an artist, and looking for a way to get to know the community better, so she picked us! yippee. well, this get's me caught up with lots of other things I need to do.

The wife asked me what she should make for dinner tonight. I had to hold my comment of "Reservations" for fear of my life. I know she's gotten much better since we've been married, but I still cringe whenever she says those horrific words,"Dinner's Ready!"

I was raised in a kitchen, and have a love of food, both eating and cooking. I make a GREAT fettuchini alfredo. my mother and father both taught me, and I've learned alot myself from reading and experimenting. I've catered for friends and family, and the only complaint I get is when someone is either allergic to something, or doesn't like a particular ingredient, like mushrooms or avocados.

Wifey, on the other hand, learned to cook as a necessity, not a love. She can cook thing to fill the void, kinda like pasta or styrofoam. she also believes that the higher the temperature of the oven or stovetop, the faster it cooks. ARGH!!

So, what are we eating tonight? Blackened rice, with half raw chicken? yum....

Just keep swimming... Just keep swimming.....
ok, I mentioned two children. the younger of the two is my boy. He's 3 years old, and autistic. I'm thankful it's not "rain man" autistic, but he still doesnt talk, and he likes to twirl things in his hands. Just had the diagnosis a couple months ago, and getting him the help he deserves, so I'm not worried about the autism-thing.

On the other hand, he's the sneakiest little creature on the face of the earth. One of the things he enjoys twirling are straws. he has learned ninja-type arts of stealth to sneak up to the table while we are sitting there and take the straw out of our drinks! All we hear is a heart-warming laugh and running while we wonder where the straw went to.

His latest obsession is Little Nemo. I can now quote most of the movie by heart, and have gulls in my sleep screaming MINE MINE MINE! it's amazing how a child... ANY child... can watch the same movie over and over and still get as much enjoyment out of it as the first time. I'm about ready to call the looney bin, and he's getting excited over the pelican hitting the window... again!

oh well. I'm going to cook up some beer-battered fish. anyone want any?

Trouble in Spira.....and elsewhere?
I've been playing FFx2, and it's GREAT! but alas, I don't have the special dress thingie for paine (which is becoming a royal paine). any suggestions?

A bit more about me. I am married, and have 2 children. one is a step child, but I treat her like my own. I want to strangle her at times, but that's because she's becoming a teenager, and the MOOD has set in. And cattle prods are illegal still, right?

Marriage is ok, but can get to be trying at times. At the library, I am the only male of 4 employees, plus alot of people of the female persuasion come in quite often. When my other half and I are at odds with each other, I look about and think to myself What If......

Then I slap myself awake and go back to reality. Reality bytes at times.

Just another manic Tuesday
Capt. Brainpower (the part time person that works here at the library) decided that she is going to re-design how the alphabet is done. (sigh) So many things have to be corrected.

I needed a break, so I decided to start the journal. I work at our local library as a clerk, but I do alot more than clerk-stuff. it's a small library, with only 4 people working here, including myself. Capt. Brainpower is the part-timer that doesn't know the alphabet quite yet.

I will be updating my info as we go, so I appologise for the scarcety at the moment.
