Hard work

It snowed again last night and it was 15 degrees this morning. Hans and Austin are working hard shoveling the driveway and Austin is crazy enough to do the job in shorts!

One Year Old (almost)

Happy birthday to the sweetest, happiest, heart melting baby I know! But don't let her cute looks fool you--this little babe is a climbing dare devil and sometimes like to show off her independent streak which is a mile wide. She has scared the pants off me several times before reaching the ripe old age of one.

We all adore our baby JanJan!

Utah Trip for Judd Family Reunion

We had a fun trip to Utah for our first Judd family reunion.  It was put on by Uncle Harold Davis, Joe's mom's brother.

We traveled down to Utah on Wednesday, camped in our travel trailer.  We stayed at Lagoon's campground, got up the next morning and did Lagoon all day.  Met Grandpa Harris there and he took the boys on all the big kid rides and Allison and Joe had fun taking the girls around.  It was really nice to have the trailer as we took lunch and dinner breaks in the cool trailer.  We stayed at Lagoon until the very close with the boys and girls running from ride to ride.

Camped again at the Lagoon campground then next morning drove to Aunt Jeans in Palmayra which is right by Spanish Fork.  Kids enjoyed the animals, bikes, and fun things at their place.  We went roller skating and jumped on huge bouncy castles, then went to Uncle Harold's for a BBQ dinner with Harris, Owen, and Davis cousins.  Joe had fun seeing many of his cousins he grew up with.

Next morning we drove up to Coalville and we and the whole Judd clan participated in the Summit County Fair Parade.  We then drove over to Hoytsville for games, lunch, and a dance with all our Judd family.  The kids really enjoyed the dancing, put on by Joe, his parents and cousin Heidi.  It was fun seeing the area where Joe's Grandmother Davis (Joe's mother) Reva Judd Davis is from.

We then drove back to Provo and met up with Florida Anastasi who Joe knew from his mission in Albania.  He is good friends with her brother and mom and it was really fun to meet her and speak some Albanian with her.

We had a fun dinner at Aunt Jeans that night.  The next morning we attended church with Aunt Jean in Palmyra and then had a nice ham lunch.  She treated us so well.  Kids didn't want to leave for home, just wanted to stay at Aunt Jeans house.  We drove home through Boise and made it home safe and sound.

4th of July in St. George

For 4th of July week, we took a trip to St. George UT.  We met with Allison's Dad and his wife Melanie, Aunt Karen and Uncle Tom, and Grandma Davey.  We had a great time swimming, playing games, and hiking in Zion's National park.  It was nice and hot!

Gardening

The kids each have a 4' x 4' raised square foot garden to plant and care for. It's been fairly easy because there are no weeds... they only have to water, which they have been doing faithfully.   Now they are starting to see the results of their efforts!  They even lashed their own trellises for their peas, which are just starting to flower.
I have a 4' x 8' raised bed which is mostly tomatoes, wax/green beans, and herbs.  I can't wait to taste garden tomatoes again!

Sorry about the cell phone pics--I've been playing around with a new phone app and the text thing didn't work out like I had hoped.  =)
