i have a small problem. ok. maybe it's my kids problem...in that case i guess that it still IS my problem. ANYWAYS. here it is: every time i go to take a picture of one of my cuties to capture the moment, to remember how adorable or how naughty they were, or to preserve memories for generations...this happens

"henry, look at the camera!"

"edith, look at me and say cheeeeese"

"emerson, look at mamaaaa!"

you see my problem? i am trying to figure out what the deal is! my kids for the life of them canNOT look directly into the camera. my sister genevieve calls it "shifty eyes", i call it annoying.
other kids don't seem to share the same problem.

here's a double whammy for you.

i may or may not say things such as "you will not have any treats if you don't look at the camera". or "if you don't look at the camera you will be in trouble".
what? you don't think that threats are conducive to happy smiles for a picture?

i don't think henry realizes he is standing in front of edie. and he still isn't looking at the camera!

its been going on now for some time now
(lovin' those chubby cheeks and belly!)
i think that edith has mastered it and apparently a little knee-pop model pose.

alastair is pretty good at it too. and when i yell "ali...look. at. the. camera" he smile becomes even bigger and more painful looking and he flares his nostrils. hmmm.

maybe it's an age thing. freddy and justin are able to focus on the camera for a minute.
or maybe because i take too many pictures, or my children are so brilliant that they have to be constantly looking around themabsorbing new and wonderful things. (heehee) more like they know that it drives me crazy! either way...my problem still remains. *sigh*
