edith and emerson are only 16 months apart. and with edith walking SO late (and then breaking her leg) it has seemed like i have had two babies for a long time.
they are so dang cute together
and maybe a little spoiled
edith has always been really sweet with emerson...and he loves her! 
they even throw tantrums together.
she calls him "ehsun" and will talk in a baby voice to him
she loves to take his bottle or toy or food away from him and make him say "please" or "thank you".

i have a small problem. ok. maybe it's my kids problem...in that case i guess that it still IS my problem. ANYWAYS. here it is: every time i go to take a picture of one of my cuties to capture the moment, to remember how adorable or how naughty they were, or to preserve memories for generations...this happens

you see my problem? i am trying to figure out what the deal is! my kids for the life of them canNOT look directly into the camera. my sister genevieve calls it "shifty eyes", i call it annoying.

alastair is pretty good at it too. and when i yell "ali...look. at. the. camera" he smile becomes even bigger and more painful looking and he flares his nostrils. hmmm.
maybe it's an age thing. freddy and justin are able to focus on the camera for a minute.

or maybe because i take too many pictures, or my children are so brilliant that they have to be constantly looking around themabsorbing new and wonderful things. (heehee) more like they know that it drives me crazy! either way...my problem still remains. *sigh*

you know those annoying moms who follow around their kids with stupid grins on their faces because they think that their child is the most adorable, amazing, gorgeous, endearing and sweetest child in the world? 
i think i have just become one.but the difference between them and me is that i am actually right.

i have had a lot of people ask me if having a girl is all i thought it would be and the answer is YES!!!
when i had my 20 week ultrasound on edith, the tech said it looked like it was a girl, but i HAD to be sure. so. she asked another tech to come in and to confirm it. after 20 minutes of poking and prodding and me contorting myself into crazy positions...they said that they were almost positive.that week her nursery was painted pale pink...and the chandelier put up.
getting edie dressed every morning (or sometimes several times a day) NEVER gets old.
she is automatically part of the "first daughters club" among her cousins
she actually loves to shop with me. *sigh*
and in return. i am addicted to shopping FOR her.
she is the darling of her girl cousins.
she adores to help us clean, scrub and pick up. (seriously?)
she adores her aunties completely and asks to call each one of them several times a day.
she thinks that she is in charge of "baby" as she still calls emerson. and just like the boys...she is completely comfortable in her birthday suit.
she likes things her own way.
and she knows how to get what she wants
she is affectionate
LOVES her cousins her age and prays for them every night! 
she adores dressing up. 
there are some trademark edie things that we all adore and that her teenage girl cousins taught her. one of them is when she gets dressed up she says "fashion" and poses.
