WHAT CAUSES ALLERGIES TO DEVELOP?

One of the most common culprits in the development of allergies is the dust mite. It thrives best in bed linen, where it decomposes organic residues from human skin. When you consider that we spend almost a third of our lives in bed, it’s obvious how much exposure we have to dust mite allergens. The result is allergic rhinitis or asthma attacks.

HOW CAN NANOFIBERS HELP FIGHT ALLERGIES?

The basic rule of fighting allergies is to prevent allergic reactions, i.e. to avoid the allergens that cause them as much as possible. Most dust mite allergens are in our bed (up to two million in the mattress and up to 10% of the weight of blankets and pillows).

WHY ARE CONVENTIONAL ANTI-MITE COATINGS NOT 100%?

Conventional anti-mite coatings use either chemicals that kill mites or a thickened fabric fiber structure. But neither solution works well enough. Standard fabrics are about 60% successful in intercepting the passage of mites into the bedding. In addition, this type of fabric is unable to prevent the passage of allergen molecules that are 15 to 300 times smaller than the mite.

HOW DOES NANOFIBRE BEDDING DIFFER FROM CONVENTIONAL BEDDING?

The basic difference in bedding is the density of the nanofibre fabric structure. The pores of the nanofabric are only 80-100 nanometers in size and the nanofiber is 150 nanometers thick. In contrast, the size of the mites is approximately around 300 micrometers (1 micrometer = 1000 nanometers) and their allergens 1-20 micrometers. Neither the mites nor their allergens have any chance at all of passing through the nanofabric, but the oxygen molecule has already passed through, so the material remains pleasantly breathable. It is therefore a 100% effective mechanical (attention: no chemistry) barrier.

AREN’T NANOFIBERS DANGEROUS?

Everything new and unknown has always caused fear and apprehension in man. This also applies to completely new technologies offering new solutions. We guarantee our customers 100% safety and efficiency. Our products have been tested in three independent institutes, the Textile Testing Institute in Brno, the Technical University in Liberec and the State Institute of Health in Prague. These institutes have confirmed 100% safety of our products and have also found them very suitable for allergy sufferers. Effective capture of microorganisms ≥ 99,0 % was verified, also effective capture of dust particles ≥ 99,9 % was proven.

HOW TO IDENTIFY HIGH QUALITY NANOFIBRE BEDDING AND UNDERWATER BEDDING THAT CAN BE DANGEROUS FOR THE CUSTOMER?

The first manufacturer of bedding with a real nanofibre fabric (membrane), which uses the Czech patent for the industrial production of nanofibres, is the company nanoSPACE. nanoSPACE is still developing new applications for nanofibre fabrics for hotels, accommodation and households.
