New Bras!
Sleeping
I just realized that I have been transcribing in my sleep!
In the past I have had dreams that I'm typing and I get really frustrated because the foot pedal doesn't work so can't get the audio to play but this was for real! Dr. Schnell has a very soothing voice and next thing I know I've fallen asleep.
Luckily, I did a pretty good job. I misspelled hospital twice but it was the same both times so at least I'm consistent!
I think I'll go walk on the elliptical for a few minutes to wake myself up.

Cute Commercial
I ran across this MormonAd this morning as I was preparing for my Relief Society lesson. It wasn't one that I'd seen before but thought it was so cute. Obviously, I got distracted from my lesson.

Amanda to OR1 STAT!
Too bad ER is in its final season, I want to join the cast. I was paged to the OR today.
I ran upstairs (really I took the elevator) but its more exciting to run the stairs, put on my gown, booties, cap, and mask. All this to reboot a computer! I'm now in charge of IT problems at HRC and that means that when the OR staff can't get the computer to work they call me!
No, its not really very exciting but I do look cute in the scrub gown! And after all, what else matters?

Birthing
We are proud to announce that after a 1 month gestation Scott has given birth!
After nearly a month of dealing with kidney stones Scott has finally been relieved of his stent!
His stone was 5mm--too big to pass. The doctor couldn't reach the stone to remove it surgically so he placed a stent while we waited for lithotripsy (ultrasonic waves are used to breakup the stones.)
Dr Miller warned me about how terribly painful lithotripsy was. Scott must be made of steel because he said he would happily do it again and the next time he won't even take the mild sedation.
Last week the urologist's office called and said they had a last minute cancellation and if Scott could get to the hospital before 2 (they called at noon) they would remove the stent. Scott was giddy! This little thing had been rubbing him the wrong way (literally)!
I couldn't image how they could use a local anaesthetic to remove an object that had been inserted while Scott was under general anaesthetic. But they did! "This is going to hurt a little. Don't forget to breathe." Scott looked down and there was a 9-inch black tube that had been inhabiting his ureter for almost a month resting innocently in the k-basin. Too bad I didn't think to bring the camera!
