This is quite startlingly accurate, except for the bit about having no mercy. I tend to be more forgiving than I probably should be, but it is true that I like to make judgements based on facts and objective reasoning, that's why I love science so much!

You rarely get angry and it takes a lot to make you angry, however you tend to lack energy and have difficult initiating activities. You like crowds but sometimes feel overwhelmed by them. Sometimes you feel like you need some privacy and time for yourself. You like the security of tradition, but sometimes have a desire to bend the rules and challenge conventional thinking. You do not like to claim that you are better than other people, and generally shy from talking yourself up, however you are not affected strongly by human suffering, priding yourself on making objective judgments based on reason. You are more concerned with truth and impartial justice than with mercy. You have strong will-power and are able to overcome your reluctance to begin tasks. You are able to stay on track despite distractions.
I feel like the Ring is about to go into the fire. I mean, as far as I'm aware, I'm not currently living in the Lord of the Rings, but it's so dark and miserable today that it might as well be the dawnless day.
News from Stories of Arda if no one else has seen it yet:
I just popped over to SoA to check the fics, and I noticed that the site has been hacked. A few people are aware of it and have already been changing things back, but as far as I can tell the titles and summaries of all stories have been altered by a hacker to read "Hacked by Cilgin_HaCKer - ercu_145 - RedRolix" and "your security proof warn3d By attacker". Anyone with stories over there probably wants to go and sort them out.
Anyone heard of this happening before? Does anyone know who's doing this?
Even though you still may be young, you already feel like you've accomplished a lot in life. And you feel free to pave your own path now, and you're not even sure where it will take you. Maybe you'll pursue higher education in a subject you enjoy - or travel the world for a few years. Either way, you approach life with a relaxed, open attitude. And that will take you far!
My rant was a little premature it seems - I have managed to work out a way of going to previously bemoaned conference after all! :D Don't really have the money nor the time, but I also can't afford to miss it! So, off I am at 6:30am tomorrow to catch a train to Southampton!
Sorry to those of you who replied! Seems I wasted your effort! ;)
Way to go! You know not to trust the MS Grammar Check and you know "no" from "know." Now, go forth and spread the good word (or at least, the proper use of apostrophes).
These two are the same... right? Exactly the same. I'm not missing something, am I? They were answers 2 and 4 of one question, and I happened to chose #4 the first time, meaning I came out with 98% instead of 100%. So, thinks I, that's not right, I'm sure I didn't get anything wrong. I'll go back and have another look: and, low and behold, if I selected #2 it told me I got 100%! Maybe I should let the quizzer know!
The Unlikely Hero You are the Unlikely Hero! Others like you are Frodo (Lord of The Rings), Young Aurthur (arthurian Legend), Luke Skywalker (Star Wars), Peter/Susan/Edmund/Lucy (Narnia), Richard Mayhew (Neverwhere), Harry Potter (Harry Potter) and Richard Cypher (Wizard's first Rule). You were happy to just live out your life as a peaceful schoolboy/farmer/wood's guide. But alas, greatness was thrust upon you. Don't let the hordes of The Totally Wicked Villain get you down, you have your Seasoned Veteran Friend to protect you and you almost always end up with the Pillar-of-Strength Love interest. Heed you Mentor well and keep your chin up, hero! You are simple, humble and kind but possess great potential for truly inspirational heroism, bravery and strength in dark times.
Drink four glasses of gamecube every day. Pay for my hobbits on time. Go reading three times a week. Spend more time with my frodo baggins. Become a better manga. Cut down on my hiking.
By the way: To all those people who have sent me emails or written stuff I should read on LJ recently, I'm sorry! I'm so far behind due to the conference and the lack of internet at either house I've stayed at over Christmas. Hopefully I can catch up after New Years!
Merry Christmas and hope you all have a Happy New Year!
Hey all! My Nanowrimo novel has been progressing remarkably slowly due to the reawakened pressures of studying, i.e. my supervisor is back tomorrow after three weeks away and I have to have something to show for the time he's been gone! Oops! :$ So, as it is, I have not yet reached 10,000 words, and with the deadline for this dratted novel being Thursday, I think it's remarkably unlikely that I'll finish! But never mind! I have set myself a target of 15,000 words, which worryingly enough might even take my Nanowrimo novel over the current post-cut wordcount of the main novel of which it is a prequel. Nanowrimo or not, I'm proud of that! So, as I've gacked this from danachan, I'm displaying my current word count below. With any luck I'll be able to make it to 15,000 by Thursday (but don't hold your breath!). After Thursday I'll upload what I've written and let people read it, if you like!
Thanks for following my Nanowrimo attempt!

P.S. Gotta love my Whisper of the Heart writing icon! :D I think this is going to be my writing one from now on!
The BBC: "The next programme of QI is on BBC4 now, and if you've not got around to getting digital yet, then call this number to register. If you live in Devon then: HA! Suckers!"
Just one last Nanowrimo general post before I lock them to the group who have or will say that they want to hear about it. As I couldn't give you a decent sum-up of the story on Tuesday, and that may make it more difficult for you to know whether or not you wish to read my Nanowrimo posts, below is a quick blurb about it:
When a routine mission goes awry, the surviving team attempt to track their infamous attackers.
The mission was a simple one and close to Earth - perfect for an inexperienced young Skipper and her team - but disaster strikes when the enemy calls in reinforcements. After a brief and one-sided battle, only one ship survives unmarked. When they decide to follow their attackers, capture is inevitable and exposes them to the hidden truths behind the enemy's strength.
I am taking part in Nanowrimo - the National Novel Writing Month. Watch me flaunt my participant icon with pride:
The target, if you don't know about the competition, is to write a 50,000 word novel in one month (i.e. November). A tall order perhaps, but here goes!
I will no doubt post a fair amount about this, but I don't want to spam people, so perhaps I should say that if you wish to be included in a group which sees LJ posts about my progress (not including desperate questions - those will probably just be public but not commmon), then comment and let me know! :)
*is excited*
My novel is going to be a prequel to my main novel, telling of the emergence of my main character from relative obscurity to the authorative place she assumes in the later story. It is futuristic, but set in a universe which is not very different to today (I always think it's perhaps I'm following people who might be my children or grandchildren: that sort of time). The story itself is essentially sci-fi, but I'd like to think that's not a major focus!
Anyway, that's told you really nothing at all! I'll tell those who wish to know more as the story grows and develops over the next 30 days! :)
P.S. "You Cannot Pass" icon for no good reason other than it's cool! :) Will make a Nanowrimo icon soon! :)
P.P.S. For any one else thinking this sounds like great fun, the website is http://www.nanowrimo.org/ and it's not too late to sign up! :)
You scored as Frodo. You would be happiest living with Frodo Baggins! He may be brooding and withdrawn, but his sudden outbursts of love and child-like dependence melt your heart.
